Dark chocolate, mocha, dried figs and caramel run deep, with tobacco and leather underneath. The 59.7% sits well-integrated; a few drops of water push it more chocolatey and fruity. A couple of tasters wanted more wood for the age.

8,7:On the nose, dried apricots, raisins, grapes, banana, cognac hints, medicinal touch, earthy tobacco, roasted oak notes like burnt sugar, mocha, leather, nuts, spicy with allspice, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, some solvents are obvious, new wave of roastedness with dark chocolate, caramel, pastry, spicy cardamom, metallic patina. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is creamy, brown with roasted wood notes like caramel, cocoa, mocha, nuts, leather, spicy with cardamom, cinammon, perhaps allspice, fruity with dried apricots and raisins, orange peel, lemon peel, figs, banana and pineapple, cherries, some candied fruits, as the molasses is thick, herbaceous, earthy with tobacco, fresh with tea.There is some metallic patina.Barrel impact is strong. 8,8:The finish is long, dry&tannic, syrupy, with roasted oak notes, smoky, spicy, fruity with dried, red and citrus fruits, molasses is grassy, flowery, dark with black tea. The last one was really disgusting, luckily this one is better. Definitely a good Guyana piece for once. Werder Bremen wins every game. Anyway, just a few characters left and that's it. Really great here.... Good thing I already rated it :)

An extremely interesting and tasty rum from Panama. On the nose, I encounter many notes of cocoa, tropical fruits, caramel, baking spices, leather and barrel influences. It is strongly reminiscent of a Barbados rum (FS Absolutio, for example) The 40 years of barrel influence have created some interesting notes on the palate. Here I have a lot of caramel, again baking spices, tobacco, leather, dried fruit, mocha, cinnamon and oak. The 59% is excellently integrated and makes the old distillate very pleasant to drink. The long finish is just as complex and elegant as the aromas on the palate. It is also surprisingly sweet and everything is accompanied by cardamom, cocoa and nutty tones. All in all, very pleasant and enjoyable. I can absolutely recommend it. Thanks to @Lot-NAS for the sample 😀

Very strong and complex on the nose. Almost reminds me of a Caroni and has something of an old Demerara. 😀 Nice woody taste, very warming. Lots of caramel and dried fruits. It's very sweet without seeming sweetened. Comprende? Here you can really notice the Spanish influence. Caramel, chocolate, and dried fruits on the finish. Really good Panama. 🇵🇦

EDIT: wow, I wouldn't have guessed Panama. It feels old but rather around 20yo than 40yo. Thanks to ArminK for the birthday gift! So far I'm thinking of a Guyana, column still. I'd say it's quite aged, it's well balanced, I get the markers of wood, dark caramel, chocolate and dried fruits.

Probably the oldest panama I've had in my glass to date. I wouldn't guess 40y here, the 1983 Bellamy is much more mature and woody in comparison. There is more cinnamon, green cardamom, caramel, dark chocolate and mocha, as well as dried apricots and dried figs. Dangerously palatable and pleasing! But almost a little "too sweet" to be honest.

First, thanks to Rumurmel for letting me try it. For me, a nice surprise that evening. Since this style of rum is not exactly my focus, I have to admit it was very tasty. Also paired very well with a Cuban cigar.

Even rounder compared to the Panama Rum Club 36 years, but still complex, fruity, chocolaty, wood, coffee, cinnamon, alcohol perfectly integrated. Apparently also a great price at 250 pounds!

Very nice and rich Panama profile. There is quite some sweetness but with the high ABV also lots of depth and complexity. Delivers what you would expect: heavy on caramel and cacoa/milk chocolate as well as rich dried fruits. So far my favorite bottling out of Panama.

Today a retasting and I even had to go a bit higher. On the nose, lots of fruit with chocolate, tobacco, and a hint of leather. On the palate, a nice sweetness, not too much. Dried fruits like fig and raisins, a bit of coffee and dark chocolate.

This one was quite a discovery. Rich, Panamese without being too sweet or woody. There are tobacco leaves, lots of mocca, some burned sugar and honey in the nose. The palate is a bit sharper as one would expect from those. Burned sugar, mocca again and some spices. Overall a really nice drop and balanced quite well. An absolute no brainer, looking at its initial price tag.

#7433 11.10.2026 Relaxing with some samples while listening to some nice Trance on Spotify. A very nice rum and the age considered a good price tag as well. Well balanced rum with roasted wood, herbs, tobacco, fruits, spice, caramel, light tannins, chocolate and some coffee.

A pleasant, very rich caramel and oily piece where sweet tones dominate again, but gradually tones outside this sweet Panamanian palette appear. It's nice to see that this destination also has something to offer.
