#6769 09.05.2026 Time for some samples after my half marathon walk today that I also managed to win. Listening to some Armin van Buuren and Vini Vici on Spotify. A pretty nice rum and because it is Neisson the price tag is higher. A nice spice dominated rum with some wood, chocolate, fruits and a velvety and warm palate.

On the nose: mostly fruity, apples. Red grapes, port? . Wood and oak on the background. Light on the nose, but still quite complex and balanced. After some air and time in the glass hints of smoky flavours pop up. Taste: Whoa, smoky and char but not peaty, didnt expect that. Whisky notes and mouthfeel. Light coffee and dark chocolate notes towards the end. Light Sourness. Somehow this palate is balanced and delicious to me. Alcohol is integrated very well. Finish: Quite short-medium and dry. Ok, I am a Neisson fan and this rum doesn't chance my opinion. Again, hats off to the distiller. I think that especially whisky drinkers are going to love this

Really very good. A very nice woodiness, notes of slightly candied apple leather, a beautiful length on the palate, alcohol very well integrated. I really enjoyed this sample. Neisson really makes good juices 😍

You can taste a lot of vanillin from a probably fresh oak barrel. However, it lacks a little complexity for me.

Very good selection from LMDW on this straight from the barrel This is a 6-year-old xo full proof in a char barrel (the barrel is very burnt inside).
