#5270 21.04.2025 Got some new samples on Saturday that I just have to try. Nose Fresh, medium intense, citrus, light grass, sugarcane, light vanilla, light anise, Agricole. Palate Oily, fresh, round, warm, citrus, sugarcane, light grass, light mineral, naturally sweet, light vanilla, light licorice, Agricole. Finish Medium to long, fresh, oily, naturally sweet, warm, citrus, light licorice. Empty glass Citrus, licorice, vanilla, light grass, light tobacco. Price to quality is very good and it did well in a Rum'n'Coke.

I haven't tasted the other vintages so I can't make a comparison. I found the nose quite round and appealing with a good balance between cane, fruity, and vegetal notes. The palate is warm and takes a peppery turn with a metallic tingling of lemon and still some grassy notes. A bit of licorice too. Not really to my taste, but it remains of good quality.

Rhum Clement is one of Martinique's most famous names, but Habitation Clement is no longer a working distillery. Distillation stopped here in 1989; the rum is made at Le Simon and, increasingly since 2017, at J.M's Fonds-Preville. What Habitation Clement is today is a beautiful aging estate and museum, where the brand's rum rests in oak under the gaze of its founder, Homere Clement.
