In summary: not easy to sum up this rum, which had more than one trick up its sleeve. What I mainly remember are marshmallow, pear cake, chocolate, almonds, exotic fruits, and a winey touch. I had a great time, and my lady also approved of the few drops I stole while taking notes.

#7357 24.09.2026 Running the last samples before going to Whisky Live in Paris. Watching The Mentalist on local TV with my wife. Not the best Savanna and I would have liked a bit higher ABV. Light, fresh, fruits, wine, chocolate, honey, nuts, roasted wood, spicy, mineral, spice.

Interesting rum but overall quite light. The tannins from the wine cask finish are quite present on the palate. So somewhat disappointing considering the price, even though it's not a bad rum.

Grima offers us a nice rum here, simple and light because it's quite reduced but still pretty well made and rather aromatic. The fruits are both tropical (Coconut / Mango / Banana) and orchard-like (Pear / Mirabelle), dry (Raisins) all highlighted by some citrus that brings a little freshness (Orange / Lemon) with a slightly honeyed and syrupy candied side. The wood gives us structure with some mild spices (Ginger / Vanilla / Cinnamon), a little toastiness leaning towards diluted coffee and roasted almond with a vinegary note coming from the Sauvignon. It's well balanced and quite pleasant without being too impressive, mainly due to the reduction and the column still...

A well-balanced rum with notes of white wine and pastry. It lacks a bit of power. It doesn't have the usual Savannah character. Just a slight buttery note.
