8:On the nose, light esters and tropical fruits, mostly banana, bump into our nosetrils, then citrus, green fruits, perhaps gooseberry, very fresh herbaceous and floral, slightly later the picture changes to wood tones, roasted with nuts, leather, spicy. On aeration, synthetic face of this rum comes out, rubbery, strong caramel, red and dried fruits, grassy feeling. 7,2:On the palate, the attack is a bit unpleasant with strong synthetic touch, settling down with sweet roasted wood notes like caramel, leather, later smoky and herbaceous molasses, dried, green and tropical fruits like banana, citrus, underneath a bit medicinal. 7,9:The finish is rounder, dry, quite woody and spicy with nuts, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, umami, a bit smoky and a pleasant crunchy confectionery, fruity with citrus and berries, quite dark with black tea and herbaceous. I'm positively surprised by this rum. For about 60 euros you get a very authentic rum. Unsweetened and not colored. For me, the nose and taste have tropical fruits combined with the wood of the barrel. The Amarone finish is also noticeable. A very relaxed sipper.

Blind tasting of two samples that Master-P sent me as a bonus, thanks for that 😍 Tasting in EC Prague-Hamburg. Sample 1: Nose: clearly spicy, at first light and not unpleasantly musty. Quite dry and metallic, salty, slightly soapy. Reserved fruity with papaya and maybe some dried apricot. Hard to assess from the nose, could be Panama or Ecuador or anything except Jamaica. 8.2 Palate: spicy, with a soapy and medicinal-iodine undertone, umami and yogurt, apricot and fatty-sweet tonka bean. Reminds me of Martinique Agricole, but actually too meaty for that. Probably some finish at work here, which makes it a bit more difficult. Not boring and actually quite exciting. 8.3 Estimate around 50%.
