Sipped neat, this is a cask-strength agricole that drinks far softer than 69.8% has any right to — round, oily and velvety, with cane, light orange and a faint herbal-floral lift. The Caroni-cask finish barely whispers, just a touch of something darker under the fruit. One taster called the high proof "erstaunlich gut eingebunden" — remarkably well integrated. A gentle giant.

#4949 02.11.2024 Had a great tasting with Kim from Romdeluxe with both old and new releases. Nose Round, smooth, fruits, light orange, faint herbal, light floral, faint caramel, light anise. Palate Smooth, balanced, oily, velvety, light floral, light orange, faint mint, light anise, light wood, medium dry, faint chocolate. Finish Long, light wood, fruits, faint plum, light orange, faint licorice, medium dry, light vegetal. This is a very smooth bottling and I'm happy that I got my hands on it. Finished in Caroni casks shows up very gently in the profile without disturbing the overall profile.
