Almost nobody here defends this one. It reads as artificial cherry candy and sweet herbal syrup — one taster nailed it as "artificial cherry aroma aftertaste" — with menthol, bitter licorice and neutral spirit doing the rest. Made in Budapest from sugar beet at 60%, it drinks more like a home-mixed herbal liqueur than any rum. A curiosity from a tasting set, not a bottle to buy.

Tasting of Artur's Puerto Rico rums. Rum? Nothing like it here: synthetic cherry on the nose, candy, wood and alcohol. The palate combines artificial cherry and plum aromas, wood, alcohol and sugar. In no particular order, of course. The finish is ultra-short, and bitter herbs remain. A house blend of bitter herb liqueur, neutral alcohol, wood chips, Ricola candy, sugar and vanillin. A few points for originality.

5,5:On the nose, the first impression we get is nice, as we might think, we have a maderia finish rum in front but...., we are quickly disappointed with a lot of artifical flavours.We notice red fruits, a lot of sweetness, caramel, baking spices and herbal aromas. 4,7:On the palate, the attack is intense and synthetic, sweet and syrupy with cherry, caramel, herbaceous, baking spices and menthol. 4,6:The finish is sweet, medium long, bitter with licorice, herbal notes, sugar and cherry...

Arturs Puerto Rico Tasting, thanks for the great overview and history :-) Headaches in bottle form. Extremely artificial, sweet, syrupy. Cherry lollipops in liquid. Don't want to know what additives are in there 🤪

06.12.2024 The liquid History of Puerto Rico Tasting First of all, many thanks to Artur for the extreme effort and for sharing such old rums at all. The rums themselves were not really spectacular except for a few exceptions, BUT I still really enjoyed it because as a normal mortal you don't get to taste such rums anymore and all the background knowledge that Artur shared I find insanely interesting. I really take my hat off to that. Big respect!

The liquid History of Puerto Rico Tasting Bonus - has nothing to do with rum anymore. Artificial and sweetness are the only aromas; it has something of cake mix in neutral alcohol. Clear recommendation: Please don't buy!

Absolutely wild historic mix here possibly from the Nazi era. Puerto Rico rum (maybe?) somehow matured in a Zwack Unicum herbal liqueur cask in Budapest 😅 tastes like Wick menthol cherry candies or an amaro with fruit and herbal notes. Wild stuff.

While putting the Puertorico tasting together, this popped up on ebay, i had to buy it. this is a horrible experience of artificial cherry. A weird musty falvour adds while tasting. and then just the weird artificial aroma aftertaste. Daiquiri: Caprisun Cherry in whatever 0/5, Did not finish.
