Bristol Caroni HTR 1998
Curious Caroni fans on a budget will get the most from this one. It's a 1998, 17-year HTR bottled by Bristol at 40%, and that low proof is the whole story: the tobacco-and-tar nose is genuinely inviting, but several tasters found the palate "very much watered down." You still recognize the distillery — cigar smoke, oak, a little dried fruit — just faded and thin.

Rum from this distillery promises full-bodied rum. Hints of this can still be detected on the nose of this rum! On the palate, however, there is not much sign of the great brilliance. Aromas of light fruits, peat and tobacco. Unfortunately very watered down!
Review by Christoph
Similar to the VSOC Caroni from Bristol, a very inviting nose that disappoints on the palate, as it is again too watered down. Minimally better than the VSOC as you are still drinking a good cigar here.

Caroni 1998 Crosstasting: Recognizable HTR profile that also works well with dilution. Loses some of its power in the finish, but still pleases with its complexity.
Review by Werni
A very weak representative of his guild. Completely watered down, hardly any aromas left. The nose is still halfway okay, but otherwise simply weak.

You can recognize that It is caroni, but 40% decrease feelings. If you want to try caroni is worth to buy.

Promising, interesting nose. Caroni notes are present but very much watered down unfortunately.

Very diluted. I think it lost its typical smell and taste. Too bad....
