8,8:On the nose, roasted wood notes with cocoa, roasted nuts, caramelized, vanilla, toasted coconut, mango and raisins, apricots, some glue, slight metallic patina, flowery and earthy molasses, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, butterscotch and confectionery like pastry, biscuits, arise, madeira touch with berries, dried figs, some orange peel. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is fruity with yellow fruits like peaches, dried fruits with raisins and apricots, much later green and citrus fruits, creamy, sweet with tons of roasted wood notes like butterscotch, chocolate, roasted nuts, caramelized, slightly smoky, spicy with baking spices, on oxidation various confectionery comes out like pastry, biscuits, some burnt sugar.The molasses is slightly herbaceous, there might be some menthol. 8,8:The finish is long, dry&tannic, very balanced, as roasted wood notes pair dried and green fruits, grassy and herbaceous, honeyed molasses. Foursquare Convocation 14 years 62° Tasting with a sample. Nose: the alcohol is very present, you can make out some raisins, strong spices (pepper, chili?), not a very exciting nose... Palate: it packs a punch! I don’t find the alcohol well integrated. After the wave of ethanol passes, the flavors do come through, with its share of spices, pepper, coconut, dark chocolate, light caramel. Finish: very hot, slight bitterness associated with coffee, cooked caramel. Relatively long. Empty glass: good oak barrel smell. You don’t get bored with a product like this 😅 It’s not really my thing, I definitely prefer old agricole rums to molasses rums, but it remains a very good rum you can spend time with.

Good stuff. The Madeira finish is very well executed. Enhancing on both nose and palate with rich dried fruits. In contrast to some more overpowering finishes in the last releases, I like this very much. Perfectly balanced with the FS base DNA.

Uiuiui, nice surprise, tested quickly, since it popped up here already, unlike the various Foursquare I had before and at the GRF in the glass, this one stands out positively and surpasses them.

No ultimate revelation and I find it very similar to the Redoutable. Nose is a bit weaker, but mouthfeel is a bit better. Certainly good and at a high level, as you expect from Foursquare ECS. However, it lacks the infinitely smooth component that often comes with a Madeira finish. A pity, there was some more room for improvement.

Another delicious Foursquare. Typical Foursquare notes, but this time it seems more balanced and fruitier; caramel comes to the fore and feels softer on the palate. I really like it. Delicious rum with a long finish. A real winner of a Foursquare.

#7170 15.08.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while watching 51st State on Amazon Prime. Very nice foursquare with a good pricetag in my mind. Well balance profile with fruits, floral, spice, roasted wood, caramel, light salt and some chocolate.

A solid representation of Barbados rum. The nose has caramel, vanilla, wood, tobacco, and dried fruit. The taste is roasted nuts, chocolate, dried fruit, and spices. The finish is long with a pleasant mix of honey and vanilla.

Time to review the newest release from Foursquare. On the nose: After sitting in the glass i get demerera sugar, vanilla, tobacco, caramel and woody notes. On a blind taste i would have guessed that this is a demerera rum or from St.Lucia. Taste: Burnt sugar, caramel and vanilla dominate the profile. You can feel the abv but its somehat nicely integrated to more full body taste. Still quite warm and pleasant on mouthfeel. That trademark balance is also there. Finish: Woody, touch of honey,nutty, roasted, tobacco. Little bit of vanilla. Medium-long finish. Interesting release from Foursquare. I has elements of El Dorado core releases and St.Lucian rums, but the quality of Foursquare is there.

#1800 04-07-2026 - Rate 8.6 This is a really great Foursquare. Some of the exceptional casks are better then the once Velier put out. And this one is one of those. And I have secured some extra samples for the shelf and the club.

👃 = Tropical fruit aromas with a vinous and woody background, plus a bit of tobacco and dates. 👄 = After the peppery entry, I find the nose again in a smooth and warm juice with nuts, caramel, and a bit more yellow fruit. The finish nicely extends the tasting with vanilla and leather. This Foursquare ECS 28 isn't exceptional but it's still very good 👍

Rum tasted at GRF in Berlin in 2026. A broad nose, rather dark and powerful but balanced, very Foursquare. The first sip is powerful without losing its balance. You find the same aromas as on the nose but more intense and with a spicier, peppery side. The finish is long, a bit dominated by spices, pepper, and wood.

I’m comparing this to Equidem - and to me that’s high praise (currently amongst the best tasting rums I’ve put to my lips so far!) The nose on this is delightful - I’m grinning from ear to ear!! You do get the signature coconut, caramel, burnt sugar and toasted notes but you also smell the presence of the Madeira cask as well - almost doubling down on the caramel side of things with the smallest tinge of nuttiness and dried fruits along with it. On the palate, the Madeira is pushed front and centre to the palate - it doesn’t dominate, it’s just the bourbon barrel part of the blend definitely plays a supporting duet kind of role… Notes of vanilla, cinnamon, burnt sugar, maple syrup alongside the usual Madeira cask notes of sharp yet floral dried fruits…. What’s REALLY apparent is the texture both in smell and taste - it smells and tastes thick, velvety, full bodied, balanced, complex and creamy. An utter delight for me!

Romhatten virtual Foursquare tasting date 11.09.2026 RX22462 FS Convocation 2010 Nose: Complex, needs a bit time in the glass. Mango and apricot, coconut, caramel some metallic dirtyness and ofc. vanilla. Mouth: Apricot and dried fruits, smooth buttery mouth feeling, burnt sweetness. Light bitter nuts and cookies. Residual taste are pleasant with citrus and orange notes. light tea and spiced notes. Long and fine finish. The glass: Sour tobacco and vanilla. Tasting “In the cave”

6 Foursquare in blind tasting. There is often talk here of uniformity, but for me this is most true of Foursquare. Some of them are almost indistinguishable on the nose. The differences become clearer on the palate, but everything is still close together. Magisterium, Equidem and Fidelitas are slightly ahead of Sassafras, Triptych and Convocation. The profile of Fidelitas differs somewhat more from the other bottlings mentioned above.

I haven't tasted much Foursquare, but this one is very interesting on the nose. On the palate, you're immediately surprised by the woody/smoky side, very, very present, which leaves little room for other flavors. You can still make out some fruity notes. The alcohol is very well integrated.

Very Foursquare with a Madeira finish. You can quite well sense both profiles. In my opinion, it's good but a bit boring... As many say, once you've tasted one Foursquare, you've tasted them all.

Rum Club Switzerland Tasting Set. Thanks Denis for organizing. Exciting Foursquare bottling with a rather unusual mint note for me. On the nose vanilla, wood, some ripe fruit and that fresh mint. On the palate round and spicy with oak, caramel and again some mint. It's precisely this cool note that clearly sets this rum apart from other Foursquare bottlings for me. Otherwise a classic Foursquare profile, but with a nice little twist.

Sehr schöne Abfüllung von Foursquare, die sich positiv gegenüber anderen abhebt und eigene Noten mitbringt. Grundsätzlich hat er eine Menge Foursquare Gene, natürlich. Trockene, rote Früchte, Vanille und Fasseinflüsse und unverkennbare Foursquare Aromen. Aber diese Abfüllung bekommt durch das Madeira Finish hinten raus eine erwachsene, runde Note. Er wirkt am Gaumen sehr seidig, geschmeidig, durch ölige Texturen und ein fast herber Abgang mit Eichen-Aromen und Gewürzen, die an Lebkuchen und Weihnachten erinnern. Bleibt insgesamt allerdings hinter anderen Abfüllungen leicht zurück - dennoch klasse Ausgabe!

Finishing my second bottle and behind on reviews. I guess I could stop the review at “second bottle” as it speaks for itself. Convocation is bold but really well put together. Oak, vanilla, and dark fruit stand out, with the usual spice keeping it fun. The finish hangs on clean and steady. One of those pours that keeps you reaching back for another sip. I’m going to let it sit for a month and try again.

Typical Foursquare, harmonious aromas. For me on par with Equidem. Very pleasant to drink with a few drops of water. I really like the Madeira influence. For me, one of the super easy-drinking Foursquare versions.

Had friends over after a family celebration and popped this one to try for a change Nose Wood, coco, vanilla, caramel and orange Palate Hot and a little spicy, with some citrus, tabacco, vanilla and chocolate. Finish Long and balanced with wood, honey and vanilla Empty glass smells like some clove.

Wow. Intense caramel, chocolate, and wood. Just a hint of dried fruit in the finish. The palate is consistent with the nose. The alcohol is a smidge hot, but well integrated. A rewarding sipper, though I wouldn't say the flavor is super complex; simply delicious.

Very tasty, but needs a good amount of water. Otherwise, it's too hot for me. With 5-6 drops of water on 2cl in the snifter, it's perfect for me. Long dry spicy finish

Very nice color. Radiant copper/amber. Something for the eye. Typical Foursquare aromas on the nose. Coconut, dried fruits, radiating nice roundness. The palate then shows aroma power. Again dried fruits with a good shot of wood. But not intrusive - fits very well. Also some roasted notes. The finish is persistent. Clear wood/oak notes. The Madeira finishing is really well dosed and adds fitting complexity. A very harmonious rum. I like it very much.

I'm continuing to discover Doorly's and Foursquare. This one is another variation around the same themes as the others. This one has a smell that I particularly like. Complex, rich, nuanced. But I find the alcohol poorly integrated. It burns. I typically prefer the Mandamus. It's good, but I've already found another one I prefer. And at over 100 euros a bottle, it's better to choose well.

The nose is exceptional. Coconut forward, sugar, and vanilla, as good as it gets. The mouth is a bit separate, warm caramelised nuts, spice in bucket loads. The finish is much hotter than normal for ECS. In my mind a long way behind Redoutable, not as complex and layered, much more spice forward. Finish is long and spicy, warm nuts and honey. Solid rum, spice overload, still middle of the pack for me from the ECS range
