#7164 15.08.2026 Having a few samples after a nice walk with my wife visiting the Danish school schip Georg Stage. Listening to some nice old Armin van Buuren on Spotify. Pretty good release and I bought a bottle and also won one in an online tasting. Well rounded profile with fruit, chocolate, caramel, coffee, leather spice and roasted wood.

A rather light, easy-drinking rum with ripe fruit and a pleasant wood note. The port cask aging brings a subtle sweetness and dark berries into play, but remains subtle. Some spice in the background, overall round but not particularly deep or complex.

The nose is a dense combination of dried dates with cinnamon. On the palate, it's a mix of dried fruit, cherries, and wine. The finish adds a long stay in the barrel and cinnamon. It quite reminds me of Foursquare. Not bad, but it doesn't excite me.

Coherent flavor profile - the Spanish style with its caramel and vanilla notes gets the expected dried fruit and nut aromas from the finishing in ex-port casks, which harmonize well and bring a drinkable sweetness. A bit of sulfur is present, but overall the rum remains very accessible. Alcohol is also well integrated - a successful release, but lacking nuance and complexity.
