Here's the twist: the nose sells a soft, honeyed cane charm — vanilla, cinnamon, a little dried apricot — and then the palate turns dry, peppery and tannic on you. At 52.2% the young oak grips hard, and a few tasters wish it had more roundness. A young Martinique agricole with plenty of promise; several rate its sibling Karakoli just as highly.

Edit: new tasting calmly. Better than I remembered. Fresh fruity, almost cherry on the nose. And exotic fruits in addition to fresh cane on the palate. Cool. Tasted at Multi Verres Spirits in Lyon in February 2025: I admit I expected so much that I was a bit left wanting. Nose a bit straight Palate lightly spiced orange Finish light caramel milk chocolate Texture a bit watery

I have already tasted all the aged rums of the brand so far, and the Karakoli was the one that convinced me the most. I would put this one a bit below that. Why? Because of the palate, whose profile is not quite to my taste (too sharp and bitter). I would have liked more roundness. Finish rather long, dry, tannic and a bit fruity pear.

Tasted this nice expression at Rhum Fest Paris 2026. It’s distilled in 2019 at the Saint James/J.Bally distillery in Martinique. The nose is complex, aromatic, rich, fresh, woody, spicy and fruity with scents of vanilla, exotic fruit, mango, iodine and tannins. At the palate it’s complex, powerful, balanced, sweet and roasted with flavors of honey, coffee and tannins. The finish is rather long.

#6426 03.03.2026 Enjoying a few samples afte a long work day in Copenhagen. Watching a Danish TV programme about crazy drivers on the roads. The price tags on the Baie des Tresors are usually always very good and you get your moneys worth. The same with this one, you get a smoot well balanced rum with fruits, chocolate and some ginger to mention a few.

On the nose, it's very inviting: wood, spices and a lovely honeyed sweetness. On the palate, the attack is dry: the tannins take over directly, with a good dose of bitterness. The finish is rather average, with that bitterness hanging on. In short, it gets off to a great start with a classy nose, but on the palate, it goes a little freestyle, too lively and bitter to really convince.

Discovered at the Limoges Spirits Festival 2025. 👃 Honeyed sugarcane, young wood (cinnamon and grey pepper spices), the agricole side on dried flowers, and rather dry fruits (raisins, mango, apricot, cherry). 😋 Sweetness of candied and caramelized cane, like a vanilla candy cane. Spiced vanilla wood, bitter and tannic, roasted coffee bean. The fruits are in the background but well present, dried fruits, apricot comes to mind. ⛳ Medium, woody, dry, spicy. A side of barrel tannins, sugarcane in the background, light tobacco. 💡 Just as successful as its little brother Karakoli, this real 4-year-old gives a nice preview of what a Baie des Trésors aged can offer. Can't wait to see what's next.

Tasted at RhumFest Paris 2025. After the Karakoli, we stay on a first for Baie des Trésors with this old rum nicely marked by its cask. Darker than the Karakoli but very pleasant. Spicy, fresh. Cinnamon. Very pleasant.

Having really liked their first products, I continue with this "baie des trésors brin d'amour". On the nose: sugarcane, floral, vegetal, slightly spicy. On the palate: the woody and agricultural side stands out with a nice freshness all the same. Finish: Beautiful length, woody and spicy. Nice tasting.

Finally a somewhat older baie des Tresors that shows what great quality could come here in the future. Nice spicy aromas of cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg, pleasant woodiness and some pear and dried apricot. Pleasant to drink Agricole...

Baie des trésors Vieux brin d’amour 2019 52.2° Dégusté en échantillon. Nez : miel, canne fraîche, léger caramel au beurre, floral. Bouche : suave, poivrée, caramel léger, vanille, zeste de citron vert. Finale : moyenne longue sur le zeste de citron vert, léger boisé, poivre blanc. Verre vide : canne fermentée Un bon produit mais moins dans mes goûts. Je préfère largement un vieux de chez Neisson dans la même gamme de prix.
