"Typical Grand Arôme wildness, rounded off by the extra years" is how one member sums it up, and that's the read. Overripe, almost rotting tropical fruit on the nose — pineapple, passion fruit, candied ester sweetness — with a little smoke and a meaty, salty edge on the finish. #7199 22.08.2026 Time for some samples. Today's training on the bike is done and maybe I'll take a walk later. Listening to some ice tracks by Astrix on Spotify. Very ice Grand Arome that packs a punch and also has a good price tag in my mind. Intense profile with glue, polish, olive, salt, fruits, spice, roasted wood and some caramel.

Sweet, ester-forward, and quite aromatic, the rum shows intense notes of confectionery, kiwi, and tropical fruits. The taste is characterized by clearly sweet ester aromas and candied fruit accents. Despite the cask strength, the profile feels a bit tight, lacking depth and complexity. Overall, an approachable pour with pleasant freshness but without much individuality.

Aromatically, it's typical Galeon wildness, but rounded out by longer aging. It reminds me a bit of Clairin in its otherness. Taste-wise, it's great. The extra years definitely help. The body is beautifully fruity. On the finish, the flavour moves into overripe fruit, smokiness, smokiness and a kind of meaty saltiness.

Typical high-ester nose with rich tropical fruits, which get some spicy-sweet flavor companions from the cask. On the palate, the aroma play of the nose repeats but is complemented by subtle smoky notes. A good release, appealing, balanced, well-integrated alcohol. An accessible representative of the Grand Arôme spectrum, but in my opinion lacking a unique selling point.
