Dark berries, chocolate and a clear port-wine streak run through this Trinidad column-still rum, with black pepper, oak and a little leather behind them. Members read it as mild but layered — one calls it "very smooth, easy to drink" and reaches for a second glass. The finish stays medium, and a couple of tasters found it more woody-spicy than deep. A composed, port-forward TDL.

#6784 13.05.2026 Having a few evening samples after picking up my wife from work and visiting a rum friend. Finally under 2000 samples in stock, though new supply is on the way. Watching "House of David" which I really like. A pretty good rum with a nice price tag to go with it. An intense and fruity rum with spices, nutts, chocolate, herbs and some tobacco.

Well, with this T.D.L the wine finish really comes through clearly. Otherwise, the nose is still very fruity, on the palate the mint does come through a bit. Wood is also recognizable in the background.

Fresh fruity aroma with technical elements and some candy or bubblegum. Taste nice fruity light, minimally technical. Some wine notes. Finish unfortunately short, but not bad at all. Some tropical fruit, a noticeable vinous finish and a bit of technique.

Here is the last rum for today, the Planteray from 2012. This one tastes very woody and spicy... Both on the nose and the palate. Still somewhat recommendable. You can drink this rum well.

Easy sipper. Very balanced, a little sweet. Menthol/mint very pleasant compared to other TDLs. Port wine notes also nicely subtle, pleasant mildness and agreeable texture. For me personally better than the hyped Trinidad PLV monster.

On The Rocks: On the nose there is a subtle oak, port and red wine aroma with hints of brown sugar. Taste reveals a mild oak, spice, dark berries, chocolate, peppery and tingle on the tounge. It is a mild taste profile but has lots of depth and features a nice port flavour. You get that pepper spice, oak, chocolate and berry jam that hangs in there. It is well rounded and unique.
