"On the fruity side for TDLs," as one taster put it — and that's the hook here. Instead of the usual red berries, this Trinidad blend leans into peach and dried apricot, wrapped in mint, dark chocolate, caramel and a toasted, tobacco-ish backbone. The nose reads shy and closed, but the palate opens up oily and sweet once you give it air. A few found it slightly cloying or metallic on the tail.

Most helpful positive review
Very restrained nose. Then nice warmth in the mouth. It has something dirty but overall a good balance. Lots of passion fruit upfront in the mouth. Later, cassis and slight mint come in. Finish somewhat one-dimensional.

Phew, I don’t know what to make of this TDL. At first, besides its sweetness and subtle fruitiness, it has a quite interesting barnyard funk note, which unfortunately turns into a somewhat unpleasant metallic note at the end. Otherwise, it’s not particularly complex for me. Personally, not a highlight.

#7186 20.08.2026 As a lucky owner of a broken down car all I can do is hope it won't get too expensive, but I¨'m afraid it might....... Listening to some 180 BPM Trance on Spotify to try and reduce my stress...... Very nice TDL with a good price tag at release in my mind. Well balanced rum with fruits, mint, spice, chocolate, pastries, diesel, earthy and roasted wood.

Bottle only opened. Good aeration of the glass for half an hour. Nose quite withdrawn, not easy to get into, it's fruity on peach-mango, a bit of wood, caramelized sugar. Pleasant mouth, I like it, it changes from the usual TDLs we might be used to. There is a balance and a nice continuity. The fruitiness stays on peach-mango, the little salty side has the aspect of roast and we finish on a bit of menthol freshness wrapped in dark chocolate. I raise my rating by 0.2 I like it more and more, the nose expresses itself more, entry on the palate that would make you think of a fruity jam without esters, well integrated alcohol.

Even though this is not an outstanding TDL blend, it is still exceptionally interesting and I am entering new territory. Dark chocolate, leather, various spices, and pronounced cookie aromas are simply atypical for the classic profile.

On aeration, the molasses is minty, dried apricots arise, roasted nuts, allspice, vanilla and coffee. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is delicious, fruity, sweet with candied fruits, dried, citrus fruits and peaches, on oxidation passion fruit, raisins and banana, the oak is toasted with caramelized burnt sugar, dark chocolate, fruitcake, leather, later coffee and caramel, spicy with vanilla and allspice, as the molasses is minty, earthy with tobacco, dark with black tea, some hints of eucalyptus are found, metallic patina. 8,6:The finish is long, dry and tannic, minty, oily, smoky and dirty, with roasted notes like nuts, caramel, biscuits, spicy, fruity with dried and citrus fruits..

Notes from my blog: Nose: A bit closed, next to the Utopia it seems much less promising. Peach, maybe a toast side or a roasted side in the background, a slight wood note... The relative freshness of the TDL is somewhat overshadowed by the chocolate and spices, but that is not disturbing. If I had to analyze only the mouth, I might guess a Guyana because it is very full-bodied.

TDL with a rather unusual mix of young and aged portions. On the nose a mixture of fresh, slightly raw notes and classic Trinidad aromas like wood, spice, and a bit of mint. On the palate youth meets maturity: on one hand grassy and edgy, on the other spicy and structured. Doesn't seem quite balanced but has an interesting approach.

On the nose: Quite mild notes. Light fruity notes like peaches and apricot, light woody notes, toasted. Caramel note gives little bit of sweetness. As the rum opens up you get little bit minty and black tea notes. Taste: Fruity notes like peaches at first with little bit of minty notes in the background. Light roasted notes. Leather notes. Light vanilla notes. Peppery notes in the background. In overall, the notes do lack of power a little bit. Finish: Light woody, light minty notes. Nutty notes. Dry and slightly oily mouthfeel. Much fruitier flavour profile than you typical T.D.L profile. While the flavour profile is good, it lacks of power in order to receive higher score .

Personally, I really liked this T.D.L bottling so much that together with MrRumantic we bought up the last bottles at the GRF. If you just give it a little time in the glass, the alcoholic note disappears relatively quickly and beautiful peach notes develop. I especially like that it is not another uniform mint bomb.

Super relaxed well-made 2006/2008 blend with a nice sweetness and spice. Peach iced tea, chocolate cookies, almond pastry, mint and peach crumble. €114 for 0.5 is a bit steep but the quality definitely convinces. Drinks very well!

Quite a readable profile. Big sweetness balanced by mint and fruit acidity (passion fruit?). In the background, the woodiness unfolds with its chocolate, coffee and vanilla... Everything seems perfect, yet I feel a slightly sickly side... The nose is quite muted compared to the palate. Aeration makes it more balanced.

Ah... The TDLs... Probably my favorite rums. The nose is on beeswax and you quickly find the medicinal markers typical of the terroir: camphor, eucalyptus. It's not super explosive olfactively, but you can perceive quite a bit of fruit (ripe mango, a bit of peach) with a background of licorice (definitely, I smelled that all evening...). A tiny bit of blackcurrant passes under the nostrils but it's discreet. The palate is much broader on the characteristic menthol of the TDLs. Exotic fruits are also well present. No red fruits like other TDLs from the 2003 vintages. There's also well-wooded cask influence. The whole is fresh, quite round. Nothing striking, nothing stands out. It's wise and smooth, maybe too much. The finish is still very long and on soft spices, with a bit of leather, tobacco and black tea. I've known better but it does the job.

Very nice TDL although it brings a remarkable sweetness on the palate. Not as fresh and minty as others, but remarkably fruity. Alcohol is well integrated. A good buy, the wife agrees and that is ultimately not unimportant...

Notes from my blog: Nose: a little closed, next to the Utopia, it seems much less promising. Mouth: WOW! An oily texture, just the way I like it, lots of exotic fruit, mango in particular, a dark chocolate edge, a little leather... It's an oily sweet/savory mix that works wonders. Completely charmed =) The relative freshness of the TDL is a little overwhelmed by the chocolate and spices, but that's not a problem. If I had to analyze just the palate, I might have bet on a Guyana because it's so full-bodied (in a good way). Finish: The oiliness and cocoa, which I didn't know much about on a TDL - but which I recently discovered with Swell De Spirits (On Tour Salon de Spa) - bring a rare gourmandise. It's obviously very, very long on the palate, making you salivate and thirsty!

A smooth blend of two not so common vintages from TDL. The nose is shy, peach and some icy mint, plus some white chocolate and pastry notes. The palate starts from pastry and developes two parallel notes, a minty and a peachy one. Not the best in class but one I enjoy drinking.

Not the TDL-typical red berries and currants here, but rather peach, which goes very well with the quite dominant mint. With water it even gets mintier! 😉 If you like mint, you'll really enjoy this.

A beautiful TDL blend of both medium and heavy rums. Surprisingly, the is one is focused on peach first, followed by classic menthol notes, as well as a caramel cocunut sweetness. This is one is very interesting, it's going a different way than most recent TDL releases.

Smells very alcoholic and like white peach. Taste is not alcoholic at all. Lots of sweet peach, very round. Unfortunately doesn't linger long on the palate. I find that a shame. I can well imagine it with a peach dessert.

08/03/2026: Brussels Rhum Festival @ Tour & Taxis. Decent TDL, nicely balanced. The nose is initially rather closed. On the palate, you can detect some light mint but it's not very prominent. It's tasty but doesn't reach the level of my favourite TDL's.
