Dried apricot, patinated oak and warm baking spice lead here, with leather and dried fruit trailing into a longish finish. It's a molasses rum from Guadeloupe blending stock up to 15 years old. Several tasters find it lovely but a touch flat at 43% — the wood and spice edge out the buttery fruit that people loved in the younger VO and VSOP.

Tasted this good molasses rum from Guadeloupe at Rhum Fest Paris 2026. It’s a blend of rum aged between 6 - 15 years. This rum is overall full-bodied, complex, rich and aromatic. The nose is floral, sweet, fruity, woody and spicy with scents acacia, honey, caramel, apricot, prunes, banana, citrus, nutmeg and peppers. At the palate it’s intense, roasted and fruity with flavors of apricot, leather and tobacco. The finish is rather long.

👃 fruits confits et secs, note d'abricot confit assez évidente, bois poli, essence de bois de menuiserie, épices, retour de douceur de fruits et de caramel, note de café doux, arômes floraux de miel de fleurs et de fleurs du verger. Nez complet et avenant. 😋 Sensation douce et mielleuse, un côté vraiment eaux de vie de raisins vieillies. On retrouve les mêmes marqueurs avec davantage de sécheresse sur le thé, la feuille de menthe séchée, le tabac. Bon point, une très bonne intégration de l'alcool. Ça se boit tout seul. ⛳ Plutôt courte, dommage, du chêne, des fruits secs, fraîcheur mentholée légère, épices douces. 📝 Recommandation dans la catégorie starter pour éveiller les papilles, même si de mémoire je préfère le fruité du Vo et du Vsop de DBM. Question de choix.

👃 = Belle intensité de boisé, de vanille, de fruits jaunes cuits, de caramel et de café avec un peu de fraîcheur florale. 👄 = L'accueil est tout en rondeur sur un lit de noix, de tabac et de douces épices. La douceur s'estompe lors de la finale chaude, torréfiée et légèrement poivrée.. Un assemblage de vieux rhums de mélasse tendre et riche, sans fausse note 😋

Ce rhum DBM XO cuvée Eden est une belle réussite, comme le sont ses petits frères VO et VSOP. Cependant il me semble un cran en dessous. Le nez est dominé par les notes boisées épicées et fruits séchés que l'on retrouvera au goût et en finale.

Je l ai trouvé un peu en retrait par rapport au VO et VSOP . Dommage qu' il ai perdu le côté fruité beurré que j avais beaucoup aimé avec les autres versions moins vieillies. Là le fruité est moins exubérant (abricot sec).Le boisé épicé a pris le dessus. Ce profil plaira plus aux amateurs de rhum boisé chêne. A regoûter pour confirmer.

Edit : toujours aussi bon ! Ultra fruité, petites notes de thé, bein gras. Rien à redire on se régale tout simplement. Dégusté au Rhum Fest Paris, notes à compléter. Composé de rhums juqu'a 15 ans d'âge. Un profil sur les fruits à coque, l'abricot, un petit côté cognac comme le VO, et un bois patiné très sexy. A mon avis il faudrait lui laisser plus de temps pour s'exprimer pleinement, la finale était un peu chargée. A 65€ PVC, très sympa !

A nice XO, the nose in mainly emphyreumatique and wood driven, fruits and acidity are in second Place. The palate retains the nice acidity ESB and VSOP have, adding some woody and spicy notes Price quality ratio is amazing

Tasted during a big line-up, rather brief notes. Very nice nose. Unfortunately the palate does not follow the nose, despite a certain intensity for 43 degrees and a nice polished woodiness. Too bad the reduction is too strong.

Immediately fruity nose, more expressive than expected: ripe, almost candied fruits, with a natural sweetness. On the palate, the straightforward fruit surprises, carried by a nice roundness, then come wood, spices and a slight caramelized touch. Balanced, indulgent, elegant, with a soft and persistent finish.

Fantastic XO. Tasted directly at Bonne Mère with Julien Picot. Contrary to most XOs, very old casks were also used here. You can tell in the finish. One of the best XOs in the molasses category.
