Un nez assez violent avec du piquant en premier, puis des fruits, de l’atelier mécanique, du boisé et du rôti. La bouche est étonnamment douce, presque acqueuse au tout début. Moins de fruits qu’au nez. Puis de la mélasse, du bois de cèdre, du goudron et du caoutchouc et des fruits. Les arômes sont marqués mais l’ensemble est plutôt doux. La finale est superbe avec de la réglisse qui amène encore plus de complexité. Un boisé profond avec de l’atelier mécanique dans le verre vide. Un HTR 1997 avec de la puissance maîtrisée. Très bon !

Le nez attaque sur une belle corbeille de fruits gourmands et le caramel au beurre. Après un certain temps cette gourmandise laisse place au vrai visage de Caroni avec le caoutchouc et le cirage. En bouche pas de doute on est bien à Trinidad avec ce côté sale et gourmand à la fois,les fruits se font beaucoup plus discrets qu'au nez. Un délicieux caroni

Porté sur le fumé, la viande épicée ! ça me rappelle le "tasting gang". Très bon mais manque un peu de profondeur peut être. Reste très bon en tout cas. Après 45min d'aération la profondeur fait son apparition 👌. les saveurs s'entremêlent très joliement et le résultat surpasse de loin la première bouche. Décidément l'aération est vraiment très importante sur ce type de rhum.

The poured glass from my freshly opened bottle smelled as if I just stepped into a workshop where someone fooled around with rubber, plastic, oil and dirt. Delicious! The rum settled down a little after 30 minutes in the glass to reveal the classic Caroni taste profile. I loved the woody licorice finish.

Meiner Meinung nach ein guter Einstieg in die Welt der Caronis. Nicht ganz so stark ausgeprägte Werstattnoten. Etwas fruchtig und leicht bitter. Der Abgang ist angenehm warm.

Nase: Teer, Malz und rauchige Aromen, erinnern an Whisky. Gaumen: Alkohol dominiert den Beginn rückt dann zugunsten von Gummi-, Teer- und würzigen Noten in den Hintergrund. Leichte Fruchtaromen sind auch zu vernehmen bevor mehr und mehr die rauchigen Aromen gewinnen. Der vollmundige Auftritt hinterlässt einen ordentlichen Pelz im Mund. Abgang: Das Rauchige und Verkohlte hält sich minutenlang, wird beizeiten durch Cola ergänzt. Fazit: Caronitypische Aromen sind allgegenwärtig, wenngleich die Intensität deutlich hinter anderen Caronis zurück bleibt.

Great nose with the typical Caroni aromas. The palate lacks dirtiness and tar. More on the fruity-sweet side. Medium-long finish that highlights the beautiful aromas once again. Good PLV
