8,2:On the nose, the first impression we get is spicy with cinnamon, fruity with an orange peel, dried apricots, prunes and roasted with notes like nuts, caramel, nougat and leather, as molasses gift is some tobacco. On aeration, the rum becomes herbaceous, floral, a bit musty, fruitier with coconut, banana, yellow fruits, pear and lemon peel, spicier with nutmeg, vanilla, a bit smoky...otherwise very round. 8,1:On the palate, the attack is sweet, soft and smooth with caramelized brown sugar, cola, fruity with dried fruits like raisins, apricots and prunes, the wood is roasted with toffee, cocoa, nuts and leather, pastry, spicy with vanilla and baking spices.When nicely rested, tropical fruits are out, some orange peel and pears, molasses brings musty notes, tobacco, herbaceous tones, perhaps an eucalyptus.A very round, sweet sipper. 7,9:The finish is medium long, sweet and dry, tannic, soft and smooth with palate notes continuing the ride, slightly minty. And the next Panama... which I like a bit better... on the nose as well as on the palate there are a few aromas, though thin, perceptible. According to age, barrel, gingerbread dough and of course heavy sweetness. What I don't like so much, but will find its lovers.

Rather flat product, added sugar? Very simple tasting based on chocolate, wood, caramel, cocoa and a hint of spice. Reduced to 43% so not too much kick and rather short finish. Tasted at WLP 2025

Still clearly too sweet for my taste – but much riper and more aromatic than the younger brother from 2006 (rx22559). Here come chocolate, spices and dried fruits. I would definitely drink it without dosage.

Due to the longer aging, clearly rounder and naturally more cask-driven than the 18-year-old. But also more ironed out and boring. Hardly distinguishable anymore from, for example, a Dom. Rep. rum, although still quite tasty.

Way too sweet, everything masked. Unfortunately. Otherwise the rum is very full for the few %. Reminds me a lot of the Origenes 30, there wasn't much behind it either except a bit of watery caramel water.

Whisky Live Paris trade fair tasting. Impressions and evaluation are based on immediate impressions from the tasting glass. Typical Panama profile, pleasantly smooth and approachable. The reduction to drinking strength contributes to this, offering a straightforward enjoyment experience without increased complexity.

Difficult... and almost a shame. An absolutely fantastic nose. Excellent for a Panama rum. On the palate then super sweet and too thin. But also interestingly musty with wet wood. It remains very sweet... too sweet? This rum is a palate flatterer. In the bottle the perfect gift. Oh, how nice would be a cask strength version of this bottling.

Now for 30 years this is warmer than I expected. This has some depth of cocoa powder and lovely satin smooth sweet profiles. Honestly, if you want this, you want this version of that. It is not horrible and shows good selection
