Silver Seal Panama Rum Small Batch 2006
Sweet-Panama drinkers are the natural home for this one. Expect vanilla, tobacco, caramel and brown sugar, with a bit of nutty roasted wood and a citrus edge on the nose. Several tasters call it "smooth as butter" but also thin and one-dimensional, with a short, sugary finish that fades fast. Pleasant, easy, and clearly on the sweetened side.
The community says- Vanilla-tobacco nose
- Smooth, easy sipping
- But: Thin, one-dimensional

Sweet, thin, easy-drinking Panama sipper Divides opinion: a nice tobacco-and-vanilla nose that most agree turns thin, very sweet and one-dimensional on the palate. Pleasant but forgettable, and clearly sugared.

8,1:On the nose, the first impression we get are citrus fruits with an orange, tropical and dried fruits, roasted wood notes like nuts, caramel, slightly spicy, mostly with a vanilla, pleasantly round. On aeration, tobacco is out, herbaceous and flowery touch of molasses, the wood is charred, smoky with bacon, spicy with baking spices, a bit medicinal and slightly tannic. 7,8:On the palate, the attack is sweet and syrupy with caramelized brown sugar, tropical fruits like a banana, dried fruits with prunes, figs, raisins and citrus with bitter orange, later yellow fruits arise. The wood goes from roasted to charred, smoked with rest, with notes like leather, bacon, caramel, spicy with baking spices, but vanilla is the first, tobacco is also noticed... 7,5:The finish is quite short, dry, tannic, diluted, still sweet with roasted wood notes, dried fruits, cherry and toasted coconut, slightly spicy, some tobacco stays...

Review by Alexander Rasch

Eher was für Süßrumtrinker.

I actually don't mind this one as much. Sure, we do know what to expect with Panama, sugared profile and hopefully some leather or tobacco. This has some tobacco and wood and is smooth as butter. I did not mind this
