26.07.2025 Retasting and I still like it a lot. -------------- #5086 Saturday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Dark to very dark in colour. Nose Wood, ester, fruity, overripe, light polish, banana, light pineapple, spice. Palate Wood, medium dry, warm, ester, fruity, overripe, banana, light citrus, faint chocolate, faint floral. Finish Long and warm, fruity, wood, banana, light glue, light citrus. Empty glass Light sour, wood, vanilla, light chocolate, light pineapple.

Young wild New Yarmouth... My expectations weren't really all that high, so I'm all the more surprised. Glue, tropical fruits, lots of marzipan and yet also a portion of woodiness. A little too alcoholic on its own, but that's probably due to its young age. In May Tai a real stunner, very fruity and biscuity, super tasty.

For this price, it's awesome! Ages much older and more mature than the four years. I'm not the biggest Virgin Oak fan, but this was great.

8,5:On the nose, the first impression we get are esters and glue, perhaps polish, then fruits come in with tropical pineapple, banana and roasted wood notes like chocolate and caramel. On aeration, the fruits are also yellow bourbon, mango and a hint of coconut. The wood gives us spices and pastry, perhaps a hint of cookie dough. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is funky, estery with glue, maybe varnish and tropical fruits like mango, banana, yellow fruits and bergamot, a bit alcoholic. The wood is roasted with pastry, marzipan, perhaps cookie dough, spicy with vanilla, baking spices, a bit salty.Fruits become candied after resting and dried with apricots, raisins, a molasses herbaceous. There is also a hint of coconut. 8,4:The finish is long, dry with roasted wood notes, tropical, yellow fruits and spicy..

Spannend!

Basically delicious New Yarmouth with lots of tropical fermented fruit, cookie dough and plenty of funk and glue. For me, however, the virgin oak is definitely a little too dominant and adds too much tannin and a certain sharpness and acidity that I find rather annoying. However, I can really imagine it in a Mai tai.

Absolute grenade. Full power NY. Cookie dough, fruit, marzipan. Initially had concerns about the 4 years in the Virgin Oak. But these were dispelled immediately. Perfectly matured. Probably couldn't have been bottled at a better time. A real bullet and an absolute no-brainer for the price.

Almost complex for such a young high ester rum. A wonderful taste experience for HD fans.

Big surprise for only 4y old in Virgin Oak Cask. Very fruity, spicy, marzipan and perfect alcohol integration. If all Virgin Oak Casks could works like this one.....
