Anyone who likes an easy, fruity sipper will get on with this Australian molasses rum. Think apricot, peach and tropical fruit over honey and caramel, with a little chocolate and cedar. Several tasters called it "easy" and mild, the 46% well behaved. The flip side: for a 10-year-old it reads thin, and a few found the finish spiky or short on wood.

#6782 13.05.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after my bike training while listening to some nice tracks by Achilles, SASH, Oily James and Hardwell on Spotify. Price to quality this is a pretty good rum in my mind. A sweet and fruity rum with nice caramel, honey, spices, chocolate and a herbal touch.

Australia Artur Advent Calendar 2025 (1) Apricot, peach, slightly yellow fruity. Could be a summer wine on steroids from the nose. Darker fruits and dry bitter wood appear at the back mixed with vanilla and sugarcane. The finish is fun, although the sharp alcohol is quite disturbing. The alcohol content is not high, but poorly integrated. ABV 45%, age: 5 years From the bourbon cask, maybe finished in a sherry cask.

Australia Advent Calendar 2025 (1). A nose of dry and fermented herbs, smoky, cedar wood, and the alcohol is quite present. A distinctly sweet, honeyed side and yellow fruits. The first sip is pleasant, soft, herbaceous, and fruity. Cedar wood comes next with vanilla. The finish is moderately long with quite a bit of acidity, apple, and cedar wood. The sweet side lingers for a long time.

👃 = a good smell of tropical fruits invades me, mixed with caramel and vanilla with some woody notes. 👄 = there's a nice, slightly fat amplitude on the palate where dried fruit, a little red fruit and chocolate are added. Pepper is quite present on the long finish. I was pleasantly surprised by this spirit, which seems younger than advertised at first sight, but its richness on the palate can only be achieved with assertive ageing. Its low price is an incentive to ditch the rum-based tampered drinks in favor of clean, mature eaux-de-vie 👏

For the price, it's a pleasant surprise. Extremely easy to drink, it can please a lot of people. It's very linear, with a big peachy, honeyed fruitiness, a little creamy. Lacking in complexity, the woodiness is almost non-existent for a 10-year-old rum!

Advent calendar The Dunderhut Australia door 1. Didn't really grab me either. On the nose tropical fruits mixed with some wood and caramel. On the palate similar, with some cooked wood and chocolate added.

Dunderhut's Australia advend calendar 2025 - day 1 The profile is unmistakeable, but yet tropical ageing made it really weak. Really fruity, pears and grapefruit, some medicinal notes especially on the palate worsens the overall score. There are Just Little hints of spices, and no cognac around, so really Little cask influence. Not bad, just too thin

Australien-Adventskalender von Artur: Wie so häufig bei Australien eine tolle Nase mit frischen Fruchtnoten und satter Honig-Karamellsüsse, der eine eher ruppige Aromatik folgt. Zwar sind die Früchte und die Süsse weiterhin gut erkennbar, aber der Abgang wird sehr würzig und röstig, was mir zu sehr ins Herbe abdriftet. Trotzdem: Gutes Niveau.

By the smell, I'd guess production from Beenleigh. Delicate, maybe even too much. The dilution here didn't work well. Too delicate again and it loses interest. Like a neutered Beenleigh without a finish. Maybe good for beginners, but if you know cask strength production, it's bad.

Pleasant rum to start the evening with. The 46% is a good abv for this rum. Cognac finish is definitely there. Good value for price.

Quite disappointed. You can't feel the effects of the 10 years of ageing, perhaps due to the fact that it spent a lot of time on the continent. This is my first Australian rum and I'm left with a very mixed impression. Lacks character.
