Drier and grassier than you'd expect from an old J.M — that's the recurring surprise here. This aged agricole blend leans on fresh sugarcane, grass and warm spice (nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger) with roasted oak and a little cocoa underneath. The finish runs long, dry and tannic. Several members who tasted all three Dame Jeanne editions rank this one lowest — less fruit, more green.

In direct comparison with #2 (RX17556) more intense and inviting on the nose, but clearly drier and grassier on the palate. The right choice for lovers of the typical agricole taste, for me nice to have tried it once.

8,6:On the nose, sugarcane, fresh with tea, herbaceous, flowery, grassy, roasted wood notes, smoky with cocoa, chocolate, caramel, nutty, nutmeg, fruits like mango, dried apricots, raisins, cherry, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, orange peel and grapes arise, the cane becomes waxy, fermented, vanilla, cinammon and pastry join, slightly resinous touch and hints of dairy. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is fresh with sugarcane juice, flowery, herbaceous, grassy, slightly mineral and flowery, fruity with banana, citrus, dried apricots and raisins, as the wood is roasted with caramel, pastry, chocolate, spicy with nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, a bit resinous, buttery and balanced. 8,6:The finish is long, dry&tannic, with fresh, grassy and flowery sugarcane, roasted oak, nutty, spicy, fruity with mango, citrus and dried fruits. #6240 Relaxing with a few samples while watching The Mentalis on Max. Nose Fresh, light wood, faint roasted, sugarcane, spice, light chocolate, faint smoke, mango, light caramel. Palate Round, oily, balanced, wood, light roated, faint smoke, banana, light chocolate, nutts, cinnamon, light caramel. Finish Long, round, oily, wood, anise, light caramel, light chocolate, mango. Empty glass light nutmeg, cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, banana, caramel.

Nice aromatic intensity despite the low alcohol content. However, the vanilla takes up too much space for my taste.

Unfortunately I have no direct comparison with the other La Dame. But I find it very good, nicely balanced, a touch too many grassy notes, which is why it doesn't get a top rating.

Today, all three previously bottled Dame Jeanne compared directly. No. 3 is my least favorite. Both on the nose and palate less fruity than the predecessors. More grass and spices, also more wood.
