One taster clocked it as a Hampden blind and couldn't believe how young it drinks. That's the story here: yellow and tropical fruit, grilled pineapple, banana, a bit of marzipan and butterscotch, with the esters dialed back from full Hampden roar. At 58.9% the alcohol sits well integrated, and a few drops of water push it sweeter and fruitier. Harmonious, if not the loudest funk bomb on the shelf.

8,3:On the nose, esters bump into our nosetrils, fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, vegetal touch with olive, roasted wood notes like marzipan and almonds, spicy, nail polish. On aeration, citrus fruits and apricots arise, some butterscotch and perhaps rubber. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is fruity with fermented tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, esters, solvents, the wood is roasted with sweet marzipan and butterscotch, almonds, spicy, when oxidized, salty and smoky.The molasses is vegetal, later herbaceous and flowery, variety of fruits reveal themselves like pear, apricot, melon, grapes and some citrus fruits. 8,4:The finish is rather long, dry, tannic, creamy with roasted wood notes like butterscotch, toffee, nuts, confectionery, spicy and salty, fruity with tons of different fruits.

A Caribbean blend that is rather on the mild side, more yellow fruits, maybe papaya...at least on the nose and palate. I only perceive esters fleetingly. On the palate, the fruit also recedes significantly ... in the finish, the spice predominates and a little bitterness at the very end. This bottling doesn't quite convince me

High Ester blend Jamaica, Barbados, Belize, at least 6 years tropical… on the nose fermented and candied tropical fruits. Belize rather in the background. On the palate then more on the spicy side, in the finish a nougat sweetness. I find the blend well done, especially since it was really fairly priced (for the festival participants).

Nose: no idea what kind of rum this is... Light, fruity, finely spicy but nothing I can really place. Palate: light, fruit brandy (pear, apple), a little spice, a little barrel. Very balanced, no extremes. Could be an Appleton. Alcohol just under 60% I guess. Aftertaste: unexpectedly long, bitter, again nothing striking. Good rum, but I can't place it. Reveal: WHAT!? Hampden!? I would never have thought!

A really tasty Hampden. As usual, we have tropical fruits and esters on the nose. On the palate also lots of esters and of course tropical fruits again. Banana and pineapple stand out.

Typical Hampden notes: yellow and tropical fruits, grilled pineapple. Beautiful esters. The rum feels very harmonious overall, which is surprising considering the comparatively young age. Alcohol is well integrated.

Doesn't really grab me on the nose. Seems unbalanced and I find it hard to pick out individual notes. On the palate some solvent and marzipan, but unfortunately also a bit too bitter and bland. Doesn't blow me away.

Nice aromas characterize this blend and if you previously had a pure Hampden in the glass, you quickly notice that other distilleries and/or countries are also involved here. Grape in taste - melon at the end. An amazing blend and therefore worthy of a festival bottling.

A strong impression of drinking an armagnac, I even reread the label to be sure 😂 It's not badly made, it's drinkable, but it's not the best blend I've had. Quite pleasant on the palate, the length is medium. The alcohol is very well integrated.

On the nose quite a lot of sweetness with slightly roasted almond aroma and yellow fruits. Taste is rather one-dimensional, sweet, caramel candy and some fruit. Finish is okay but nothing special. If you're going on tour you can drink a few of these 😅

#7225 27.08.2026 Enjoying a few rums while packing for the weekend trip to the German Rum Festival in Berlin. Listening to some new Psy Trance on Spotify at the same time. Nice rum with a good price tag in my mind. Fruity profile with ester, industrial notes, natural sweetness, marzipan. roasted wood and spices.

One of my first swells, which I will rank lower down. And that's still a 7.9 or 8.0. swell just has a high level :-) Fruit okay, alcohol well integrated, low esters, daily sipper, Jamaica light. 1-2 more years would have done it good.

I find the blend quite well done. Little ester, lots of fruit. Nice is the long (yellow) fruit note on the finish. With water it gets even sweeter, even fruitier and a slight toffee note appears. The alcohol is super integrated.

The distinct character of Hampden is immediately recognizable from the nose. The alcohol is well-balanced, allowing the vibrant esters to shine alongside notes of yellow and tropical fruits. As the experience unfolds, a rich butterscotch note emerges in the finish, adding depth and complexity.

Well, this bottling didn't really grab me on this epic evening. For me, it's a bit unbalanced. It seemed more like a few things were quickly thrown together to get something back on the market.
