The nose reveals it: a Hampden is in the glass (this time really 😉) Notable is only an unusual note like smoke from an almost suffocated campfire and something medicinal. Palate: yes, definitely Hampden, lots of sweetness, little olive and brine, still dry, I like it better than most other Hampden. Alcohol about 60% Aftertaste: quite bitter, I don't like that aspect so much, woody, dry Very good Hampden (probably). I place the mark in the high upper range: HGML or C<>H. The distillate is probably not older than 2010. Revelation: ah, a Hampden blend, alcohol is apparently well integrated and actually about 5% more than suspected.

Wow, really cool Hampden here from Swell. Really nice ester rum. We also have the familiar characteristics such as tropical fruit, in this case passion fruit and pineapple on the nose and palate. Also slightly metallic on the palate.

Rums of Arnachy... but it doesn't come across as archaic at all... On the nose the classic Hampden aromas in medium intensity. The same on the palate... it is quite balanced and not tiring. The alcohol could be a little better integrated. The fruit is almost imperceptible on the finish

Funky Ester nose with plenty of alcohol first noticed, papaya, pineapple and banana... some fermented fruit notes, cookie dough and marzipan. On the palate somewhat alcoholic but again Ester power fruit at first... then it becomes relatively dry and bitter in the mouth. Marzipan and cookie dough also clearly here but with dark chocolate shavings. Much better in Mai Tai than neat.

So finally the Swell&Co RoA in a glass. This blend from Mika consists of the RX22697, RX22312 and the RX22557. All the classic markers are present, I just think the NY is a bit underplayed here. All in all, however, very harmonious. I like it a lot.

A small fruit bomb bursts in my mouth. An impressive Hampden. The best thing is this beautiful passion fruit note in the finish alongside the intense taste of banana and pineapple. At the top of my wish list from now on.

#7224 27.08.2026 Enjoying a few rums while packing for the weekend trip to the German Rum Festival in Berlin. Listening to some new Psy Trance on Spotify at the same time. A very nice Jamaican blend with my favourite "<>H" in the blend. Intense profile with industrial notes, fruits, ester, olive, pastries, marzipan, salt, roasted wood and light peat and smoke.

⚡ Cuvée with Alain & Salva – High esters, high vibes. A blend made for ester junkies. 🎢 It starts off like a storm, never stops: ripe exotic fruits, wax, glue… A real aromatic tornado that grabs you and doesn’t let go. Watch out, this one shakes you! One of my best blends so far.

A Hampden as I love it - lots of ester power, a bouquet of tropical fruits and cookie dough dominate the rum from start to finish and with a lingering finish it gets drier and drier. Alcohol perfectly integrated.

Initially quite a lot of wood with charred pineapple and sweet glue notes. On the palate then quite fruity with even more sweetness, honey and light esters. In the finish, the Jamaica funk fades a bit and it remains a weak finish with a bit too much alcohol. But overall a solid thing.

Round Hampden with nicely integrated alcohol and good ester content. That often tends to be much fiercer with Hampden. The tropical fruits like passion fruit, banana and pineapple on the palate are great. The pineapple continues nicely in the finish. Successful bottling.

By far the best rum of the evening. For me, the 2013 HD dominates both on the nose and on the palate. The 2007 HD and the NY 2009 fit in very well here and add some complexity to the blend. I like it very much.

Nose: Ester, ester,... really awesome and delicious ester :-) Palate: not quite as intense as the nose promised. Of course super delicious fruit bomb, but unfortunately also a little bit of nail polish hints that don’t go away even after 30 minutes waiting. Complaining on a high level. Alcohol perfectly integrated.

All in all, this bottling brings everything you expect from Hampden. Overall, it's more than solid, but in my opinion, it doesn't stand out extremely compared to other bottlings to make it into the top group.

Typical Hampden notes: yellow and tropical fruits, grilled pineapple. Nice esters. The rum feels very harmonious in itself, which is surprising considering the comparatively young age. Alcohol is well integrated. Nose is a bit better than the taste. Nice creaminess.
