Decent NY94 with typical notes and more on the roasty side, but also a lot of "green" ... a nice nutty bitter note on the palate that goes well with coconut, banana and caramel. For me in the midfield ... not a top performer but not a total failure either. The Vintage has simply already reached its zenith

8,8:On the nose, toasted coconut and roasted wood notes with caramel, biscuits, macaroons and pastry, dried apricots and raisins, banana, some nail polish, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, there is a strong barrel impact with coffee, hazelnuts, roasted almonds, spices like cinnamon, vanilla, yellow fruits, metallic patina. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is dry, slightly sweet and buttery with Demerara sugar, roasted wood notes like butterscotch, cocoa, leather, coffee and pastry, spicy with cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg, salty and fruity with toasted coconut, peaches, banana, cherry, citrus and dried fruits, as the molasses is a bit minty. 8,5:The finish is medium long, dry and tannic, musty, with similar notes as on the palate, but less balanced.

Another, but older 1994 New Yarmouth. The nose has the familiar markers and I still like it best here. On the palate, the influence of the cask is already very noticeable, but in combination with the spicy component, it's still okay. The finish is borderline for me as far as the now bitter cask taste is concerned. The bottling is still just very good, but has obviously passed its zenith

Excellent and typical NY94, which becomes an easy sipper due to its low alcohol content! Really good! But if you're looking for a board like the RA, you've certainly come to the wrong place.

Delicious old New Yarmouth and together with the FRC the oldest I've had so far. Overall rather on the woody side, dark, heavy, and spicy. Banana and coconut are present but complemented by toasted oak barrel, cardamom, strong mocha, cinnamon, and a bit of mint. Tasty and reasonably priced but won't be my favorite 94er NY!😅 Overall, it's a bit too astringent and bitter for me, woody though balanced and drinkable. But my expectations were higher.

#6747 05.05.2026 Speed hiking done and wife picked up from work. Time for some samples and some Trance Tracks on Spotify. A pretty nice rum with an OK price tag the age considered. An intense and fruity rum with some funk, caramel, spices and nicely balanced roasted wood. Needs to rest for a while or it will have some bitterness to it.

And the journey continues. Really strong New Yarmouth. Lots of coconut and vanilla on the nose, also some wood. On the palate quite a lot of coconut, some sugar, but also roastiness thanks to coffee and cocoa.

04-04-2025 - Rate 8.9 Classic NW. Love the nose. Missing s little on the plate. 55,8% is a bit to low. 25-10-2025 - Rate 8.9 Had it in a blind setup with 4 other 1994 New Yarmouth’s. This one was the least favorit of the 5. To low ABV.

Unfortunately, I'm a little disappointed here. All in all, a nice rum, but I'm used to more from the other 94 NY bottlings. I think there would have been more here with more %. But maybe it also needs more time to breathe. I'll have to taste it again in peace. What I like is the walnut note in the finish.

Here I have a very smooth and round NY 1994. The nose is extremely pleasing and round. I have vanilla, coconut, wood, caramel and tropical fruits. Then come pleasant notes of roasted almonds and dried fruits. A very harmonious nose. On the palate, Demerara sugar, barrel notes, coconut and leather appear first. Then besides banana also coffee, oak, cocoa, roasted notes and a nice spice follow. The gentle and medium-long finish has barrel notes, coconut, wood, cinnamon and roasted nuts. Then the finale fades out with mocha, cardamom and tropical fruits. The 30 years of aging make this rum easy to drink, even if the finish has a slight sharpness. I find it good. And what do we have here? The popular NY1994 again, this time 30 years old. Smells nice, nice coconut, wood, tropical fruit. The taste is lower alcohol, more woodiness, coconut still present but a little overpowered by the wood, as if to suggest the rum wanted out of the cask earlier. The finish starts to lack flavours, leaving vanilla, wood and strength of alcohol.

Here I have to agree with Thunderbird's fitting comment. Aromas like Demerara sugar, coconut, oak, and sharp spices extend from the nose to the finish. Due to the long aging, the 94 is sometimes pleasant and round, but also very woody. Tea and gingerbread spices distract from that. If the distillate had a few esters, it probably would have been a real story.

It offers the typical New Yarmouth 94 character, coconut, banana, tropical fruit and technical notes, wrapped in thirty years of bourbon cask aging. Wood plays a very important role here and sometimes borders on dominance, but still leaves room for fruit and spice.
