#5945 09.11.2025 Having an online tasting with old friends covering, Denmark, Singapore, New Zealand and China. Hopefully we will all meet up in the beginning of the new year. Price to quality is usually always good but this distiller. This one is no exception. A fresh grassy releas with some nice fruits, vegetal and light salty notes. There is also some cherry anf floral notes hidden in there.

A good typical agricole rum from Martinique, with quite a bit of wood and pepper on the nose. Its years in American oak barrels have brought vanilla without taking away the fresh sugarcane. The spices and woodiness linger for a while on the palate.

Tasted at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. I particularly liked the first ESB from Baie des Trésors and this new batch from Karakoli follows well. Unfortunately, the very fresh side of the ESB is lost but we gain a very nice agricole.

Barrel very marked after opening the bottle. You really smell the bourbon full on the nose. Beyond that, the rum remains very good with interesting notes of fat, wood, and fresh cane.

Clearly different from the Fruits des Pluies range - Brin d'amour which are on wet canes. Here we are much more in the dry, woody less fresh and herbaceous. On the nose: cane, earthy, wood. On the palate: wood, agricole, sugar cane, fresh, tangy with a hint of lime. Quite strong in alcohol and dry. Finish: very nice length. Nice tasting reflecting what Baie des Trésors has produced! Even though I prefer their wet cane range, the aging of their Fleur du Vent is still a great success!

An extremely woody young rum. A cane that has benefited from the sun. It's a bit like America in the tropics. The result is close to dynamic aging.
