Here's the twist: the nose gets people with fresh cane, cut grass and a fun marzipan note, but the palate is where opinions split hard. At 59.7% and just two years old, the alcohol runs wild and "not well integrated," as several tasters put it. Underneath sits proper Bielle-style agricole — fresh sugarcane, mineral, hay, a lime-and-orange finish. Young, raw, and divisive.

The base is good, but it's a pity that the alcohol of this BDF is not well integrated enough. So on the nose it is quite closed by the alcohol. We have caramel/herb, but also a vinegary contrast. On the palate the alcohol remains present and gives liveliness. There is butter caramel, hay and mineral. Finish in two stages of caramel/herb sweetness that evolves into orange zest/mineral.

I can't really do anything with this bottling. I still find the nose with its fresh floral and honey-sweet aroma the most pleasant. On the palate, however, it loses me. Too alcoholic and one-dimensional. The aromas are only rudimentary. The finish is very short

#7169 15.08.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while watching 51st State on Amazon Prime. Pretty decent rum with an OK price tag in my mind. Sugarcane driven profile with fruits, herbs, marzipan, salt, light roasted wood and faint varnish.

Although the rum smells and tastes quite monotonous of sugarcane, earth, and toffee, these different aromas are very well balanced. The alcohol is well integrated. Not so great neat, but surely good for mixing.

Nose: a beautiful vegetal cane that intertwines with vanilla, caramel flan, slight notes of licorice or maybe anise. A certain freshness emerges, mint? In any case, some medicinal notes also appear after airing. Quite a complete nose. On the palate, a nice sweetness, the return of vanilla flan, floral notes, citrus, and oranges. It flows effortlessly, you let yourself be carried away. Finish a bit simpler, between floral and vegetal notes. A good vintage.

A still quite young and wild Bielle, with primarily vegetal notes but also a fine sweetness and intense sugarcane aroma. The alcohol could definitely be better integrated but the basic quality is good...

Discovered during a visit to Versus wines and spirits, a great wine merchant by the way. Lots of freshness, fresh sugar cane, lime, slightly earthy, definitely a Bielle style. A bit of vanilla too (Bourbon cask). I didn't appreciate the young aging that much. I found the alcohol a bit too present. I prefer a more classic but clearer grey cane. To taste again soon to confirm or not my first impression.

Rhum assez jeune mais je suis assez fan du nez 🤩 Guadeloupéen bien fait des fruits du terroir du végétale et du jus de canne c’est bien fait, Il souffre de mon sens d’un intégration alcoolique peut être pas assez aboutie. Un vieillement plus long aurai bonifier ce jeune rhum qui n’en demeure pas moins assez réussi

Ich bin von den anderen Bewertungen ein wenig irritiert, offen gestanden. Die Flasche kostet 54€/500ml für einen jungen Agricole mit 59,7% und meiner Meinung nach bekommt man durchaus das, wofür man bezahlt. In der Nase grasige Aromen und lustige Noten von Marzipan und Zuckerrohr. Am Gaumen schöner Agricole, leichte Vanille und mineralische Noten. Hinten raus hätte der Alkohol evtl besser eingebunden sein können, aber so wirkt er wild und kantig.

On the nose, it’s immediate: we’re on fresh cane, with a very agricole profile, fresh, vegetal and mineral. The alcohol is quite present but without masking the aromas. On the palate, the attack is lively, marked by alcohol, but complexity quickly settles in: the cane remains dominant, accompanied by earthy notes and a nice mineral freshness in the mid-palate. The finish evokes a mirabelle or pear eau-de-vie. A pleasant rum, rather dry, which lacks a bit of roundness and indulgence compared to the barrel proofs from Bielle. It actually reminds me a lot of the Canne Grise from the same house.

Also ein ganz ganz komisches Teil, nix halbes und nix ganzes. Pur hab ich den kaum nur ansatzweise runter gebracht. Mich dann für die Alternative mit ein wenig Limette, Zuckerrohrsirup, Eis entschieden. Das rettet ihn ein wenig von den Punkten her. Als Mixer aber auch nur so lala.

The nose hits us with its alcoholic power. Normal, it clocks in at 59.7%. But it really stings the olfactory bulbs. You can clearly smell the eau-de-vie and a strong ethyl power. You sense marzipan and there is a lot of fresh herbaceousness, with this robust cane and the smell of cut grass. A bit of caramel peeks out. The palate brings a lot of oleaginous notes: walnut, bitter almond. All in this poorly integrated alcohol. We find these very vegetal accents: hay, cut grass, with some kitchen spices. Honestly not great. The finish is quite long on this walnut and an unpleasant cardboard taste. I didn't enjoy this rum much.
