#6518 20.03.2026 Part three of todays evening tasting with a few friends. And now were going for the great non spitting rums. Today the music is a bit different because not all like my Trance and Psy Trance, so we have settled on some EDM and hits from the 80s. Thsks you Silas for supplying the samples. This is a wonderful Foursquare and it is well balanced and ABV integration is very good. The nose is fruity with light tea and vanilla. The palate is oily with light roasted wood, caramel, vanilla and fruits. The finish is long and light spicy with nice wood and coconut.

25/04/2025: Bedford Park tasting with Stijn. Not my favorite type of Foursquare to be honest. I prefer the more darker, richer notes as you can sometimes find in good ECS releases. This one has a lighter profile. Also something dirty on the palate. Honestly, I don't understand the high community rating...

Tasting next to Isomomy and other Bedford Foursquare. This one is more woody and roasted then the other Bedford which has lot's of vanilla. Isomomy is another league which is way more complex. This one misses complexity, but is a very decent Foursquare at a good price.

Beautiful complexity to this rum. Nose is a woody delight of crumble, vanilla, coconut, roasted pineapple. Some smoke. Right away a classic FS. Mouth is simply a delight. Red fruit, cinnamon, vanilla, dates, chocolate, brown butter, smoke, waffles, coconut, honey. This as an independent bottle is stunning and holds its own against some very good ECS.

Had the pleasure of tasting this straight from the cask when it was being decided on for a pick for Canada. Instead, it took shape in the form of a Pinball bottle and it did not disappoint. The complexity from simplicity is clear - right on the margins of getting the oak to put a bit too much wood, this doesn’t have the spice or kick I expected. Instead - it was depth of flavour and a balance of sweet and savoury. Honeysuckle, cardamom, rocky road ice cream, lemon bitters. Fantastic combinations at each level that meant I went through the first bottle very quickly.

This is my all-time favourite Foursquare. It has the edge on the sister Foursquare release from BP in the same year, but this simply is a cut above. Incredibly well rounded and hits all the right notes.
