Spirit of the day #3 La Reunion 2017
Highly praised for its fruity, buttery and slightly briny profile with good value at cask strength. An engaging, characterful Reunion rum when you’re ready for a more assertive sip.
Fans of punchy, young Savanna‑style rums who enjoy tropical fruit, caramel/butterscotch and a light olive/brine edge at full cask strength.

How does Spirit of the day #3 La Reunion 2017 taste?
Punchy, fruity Reunion cask strength
If you like younger Savanna or Worthy Park‑style rums and don’t mind firm alcohol, this offers a similar mix of tropical fruit, buttered caramel and light brine at a fair price.
Those sensitive to high ABV or looking for soft, easy sippers with deep complexity; the alcohol and relatively lean body can feel harsh or thin.

There are good foundations, but I find this rum a little unstructured. It would have benefited from longer tropical aging. Its main negative point is the integration of alcohol. The attack on the palate is not obvious. What I liked was the fruitiness, the caramel aspect and the smoky vanilla touches. Given the price of some bottles of Savanna, it's a good buy.
Auto-translatedTo describe it briefly and concisely, this bottling has a very poorly integrated alcohol. It overpowers pretty much everything on the nose and palate. Even after some time, there is not much more to it. Despite the alcohol, it seems a little watered down.
Auto-translatedThe nose is ok, it's fruity and pleasant. You can taste there's something but it's overwhelmed by the alcohol. I don't get the reunion vibe. The finish is vegetal. Conclusion: Lack flavours for the proof.
