For the nose, re-test without a cold. The taste is a great success. The alcohol is clearly present, but the sweet fruit and coconut take up more and more space, as do the spices. This sensation becomes more pronounced with aeration. No real length, which is a pity. But it's rather pleasant. Edit: alcohol a little too present for an early line-up.

Nose Fresh, light wood, light roasted, coconut, light chocolate, fruity, light nutts, vanilla, faint nougat. Palate Oily, sweet, light wood, chocolate, vanilla, light nutts, pineapple, light nougat, dried fruit. Finish Medium to long, oily, sweet, light wood, peppery, pineapple, coconut. Empty glass Coconut, chocolate, vanilla, light nutts, light caramel.

It's well made. Round. A little dry over the length. You can feel the WI more than the 10% Fs (and that's normal because it's 90%).

After tasting and praising the Old Brothers LPCH, appreciating but not more the MGB, let's move to FWI for the initials of Foursquare (10%) West Indies (90%), a blend of 3 and 5 year old Barbados rums, at 47.1% and bottled in 636 copies. We have a nose and palate that is indulgent as Barbados knows how to do. With more persistent notes of coconut but especially woody ones. The result is pleasant but the finish is dry which leaves me wanting more. Conclusion of this Old Brothers trio: good quality blending and reduction work but I preferred the LPCH.

Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.

A nice Barbados rum that brings reminiscing notes from the distillate from each distillery. It feels characteristic from Barbados, is proofed down without loosing flavors. Very easy sipping Rum. It can be enjoyed without overthinking, and in pleasant and quiet moment.

Robe is golden. Nose is nice but not very strong, quite discreet almost but evocative and with personality. Attack is ok, quite round, yet spicy, with undertones of chemicals and honey. Finale is quite long and sweet. And the more he opens up, the rounder the rum gets. Quite nice.

This really does nothing for me. flat and rather uninteresting. The alcohol really is unbalanced and coming at this price point i expected more. the West Indies, especially the french ones know how to make this work...
