I tested this rum when I visited Hopewell Distillery during my recent visit to Barbados, which is a newly started distillery by Perkins & Sons, an old Barbados family active in the production of spirits. This 12yo blend was created to celebrate 75 years of rum-making by P&S and honours the founder Ivan Perkins. The aging took place in old bourbon and Madeira casks. It’s smooth, elegant and well balanced with a depth in its character. The finish is medium long.
