Overripe tropical fruit, apple and a fermented tang lead, with a light sweetness up front — then it turns metallic and briny into a short finish. 5,2:On the nose, overripe, fermented tropical fruits with pineapple, citrus fruits, esters, rubber, metallic patina, brine, slightly alcoholic, smoky, burnt, bbq, bump into our nosetrils. 4,7:On the palate, the attack is sweet with overripe, fermented tropical fruits, apples, there is some brine, medicinal with esters, burnt rubber, slightly metallic, the wood is smoky with BBQ, bacon, spicy. 4,2:The finish is quite short, dry, metallic, burnt, the fruits are overripe like apples, citrus, we find some honey, perhaps grassy hints.

This Arrack is somewhat more drinkable. Somehow a slight sweetness mixes here with tropical fruits. It also tastes somewhat fermented and the nose is quite alcoholic. Just about okay.

Once again an outstanding tasting that Artur organized superbly. Many thanks for the introduction to the world of Arra(c)k. The blends are truly a challenge for the taste buds. But what really surprised me was this BASF bottling. My deepest respect for the time and effort that is repeatedly invested there. A real honor to be able to participate in such tastings again and again.

Arra(c)k 2.0 tasting by Artur. Neutral alcohol on the nose, but also honey, butter, tropical fruit and overripe apple. Tropical fruit on the palate, with overripe apple and light oak. The finish is short, some fruit at the very end, but it's the longest of these first three arracks.

Arrac(k)-Tasting 2.0 by Artur. An exciting tasting journey with an impressive range of styles and profiles. From smoky to fruity to spicy, everything was represented – partly a bit unbalanced, partly surprisingly round. Especially some bottlings showed a lot of character and depth and stayed in memory. A format that is really fun. Thanks Artur for the opportunity! 😊

Clearly more intense and fruitier than the two predecessors. Surprisingly pleasant on the nose with a nice sweetness and fruitiness, reminiscent of Spanish rums that have been charcoal filtered. Hence also the slight woodiness. Relatively pleasant but also very light and fleeting.

First one that is not so bad. Balance of sweetness, fruit, spice. But unbalanced at the end. Arra(c)k Attack 2.0 tasting with Artur across the board, from really nasty blends to surprisingly good representatives, everything included. Great journey to this spirit completely unknown to me until now.

The first drinkable one out of the Verschnitt options. I actually quite enjoy the nose and texture of this Arrak, it has more body, with tropical fruits and sweetness. Unfortunately, that doesn’t carry through as much in the taste and finish. It turns a bit metallic and briny instead, which is interesting.
