8,3:On the nose, fresh, minty molasses with eucalyptus, medicinal rubber, menthol hints, petrol, citrus, blackcurrant, cherry, passion fruit, maracuja, candied fruits, bump into our nosetrils, intense. On aeration, the wood is toasted with pastry, sweet, caramelized, spicy with allspice, molasses is fresh, grassy. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, sharp, medicinal with varnish, rubber, menthol, molasses is minty, later earthy with tobacco, herbaceous, fresh with tea, sweet with honey, slme sugarcane hints arise, fruity with tropical, citrus fruits, the wood is toasted with pastry, spicy with allspice, vanilla, anise hints, smoky, dry, when it is rested well, it becomes very delicious, full-bodied. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, oily, oak is toasted with biscuits, vanilla, creamy, spicy, smoky, fruity with citrus, tropical, yellow fruits, rubber is burnt and molasses minty, flowery, earthy with cigar tobacco..

Seems unusually round and strikingly sweet, almost as if a layer of honey covers the entire profile and the facets are therefore masked. In the background there are slight TDL hints with subtle fruit and some spice, but these remain weakly expressed. Overall drinkable, but clearly unbalanced and below expectations.

#6618 07.04.2026 Back from Blåvand after a very nice day and evening with Fabian. Listening to some nice tracks by Nico Dei, Omiki, Funk Triby and Charlotte de Witte. This is a pretty good bottling with a minty and medicinal dominance. Thanks Rene for the sample. The nose is fresh and round with light wood, mint, citrus, earthy, light mineral and light medicinal touch. The palate is oily and dry with light roasted wood, mint, medicinal, citrus, dried fruit and light tobacco. The finish is long and oily with wood, mint, light iodine, citrus and light tobacco.

První plnění pro Rum Friendly Club! Velké díky Filipovi Lojínovi! Ve vůni se v jemných tónech objevují citrusy, velmi zlehka máta nebo mentol a eukalyptový bonbón. Chuť mátová či mentolová, citrusy. V závěru krémová vanilková zmrzlina, citrusy, tropické ovoce, máta, mentol. Dobře integrovaný alkohol, hezky pitelné a fajn poměr ceny a výkonu. Edit: mírná korekce hodnocení

And a T.D.L afterwards. Obviously lots of mint and also eucalyptus on the nose, plus some citrus fruits. On the palate, clearly mint :) but also menthol and some wood as well as vanilla. I find the alcohol is absolutely perfectly integrated.

Ha, rum for our RemFriendlyClub group, awesome! I was really looking forward to opening it! Both in taste and aroma, there's a clear mint that over time turns into a more bitter menthol note. So the taste is drier, woodier, besides tropical fruit I also sense vanilla, a bit of pepper, and a certain iodine/mineral note. The first sip was probably the best, after each next one a certain bitter alcohol taste remains in my mouth. Adding water fixes that, but the following first sip is again better than the others. After a few minutes it levels out and I only feel menthol in my mouth.

There isn't much interesting in the nose, the traditional Trinidad mint profile starts to show in the taste, complemented by mineral tones and wood. OK rum, a sample is more than enough to taste, I don't need a bottle.

Distillation 1/1/2010 in Trinidad (currently the only distillery is Angostura). 5 years tropically aged (ex-bourbon), 9 years continuously (once used bourbon barrel). Bottled on December 9, 2024 to 212 bottles in strength. 60.8%.
