The double-cask (wine plus scotch) finishing largely buries the base rum — most tasters find sweet fermented grape and a smoky whisky note where they expected ester. An der Nase nehme ich erstmal deutlich Alkohol wahr. Ein bisschen Frucht und florale Noten. Am Gaumen wird es dann komplett anders. Nussig-cremige Note, dazu leichte Süße und auch eine medizinische Note. In Summe nicht übel. Alkohol ist gut eingebunden.

Ach man, -letztlich wieder ein weich-gefinishter Rum, der hierdurch den kompletten Charakter verloren hat. Ein bisschen jamaikanische Ester erahnt man nur noch. Der Rest ist versteckt unter dervsüssen Traube und der Whiskynote.

Wie kann man einen Jamaicaner nur so verhunzen. Der "Rum" erinnert an irgendeinen Fusel, welcher verdünnt und aromatisiert wurde. Litschi, Traube, etwas pflanzliches und Whisky kann man Herausschmecken, was meines Erachtens nicht miteinander harmoniert.

Ein stark gefinishter Jamaicaner, der wieder einmal das eigentliche Rum-Aroma überlagert. Ich schmecke fast nur noch leicht vergorene süße Trauben und minimal rauchiges Whiskyaroma. Und das ist leider überhaupt nicht meins.

Insgesamt ein guter Rum. Aber durch das Weinfass-Finish kann ich ehrlich gesagt den Grundstoff nicht mehr wirklich rausschmecken. Wer hier Ester sucht, der wird enttäuscht. Vom Scotch-Fass kann ich nichts rausschmecken.

a hint of Jamaica and a nice balance between the acid andvthe fruits, buttery, on the nose. But quite subtle and not convincing. Palate is just left with herbs, buttery flavor and a touch of ester. Smooth sipper

Danke an BananaJoe dass er dieses Teil, wo auch immer ausgegraben hat. Mir persönlich hat diese Abfüllung, auf Grund des sehr dominanten Whiskyeinschlages überhaupt nicht gefallen. Dieser macht meiner Meinung nach den Grundstoff völlig zu nichte.
