A fairly balanced Agricole from Mauritius that comes across very elegant and soft. The aromas are quite complex with fruit, sweetness, barrel and grass. In the finish, the typical agricole vegetal side dominates more. A relaxed sipper.

I'm not really sure what to make of this bottling. After we were teased here in the forum by Gunnar with all the bottlings from Mauritius 😉, I have to say that this bottling can't keep up. You can try it once, but nothing more.

Oh, an acquired taste Agricole (uhm, I mean rum from sugarcane juice). A bit too spritzy and bitter. Would most likely guess Labourdonnais. Not necessarily a must-try.

Haha, finally "Agricole" again, but it's a bit worse than all the Bielle :) Otherwise it's still quite pleasant, there are really worse ones. Sugarcane, vegetal notes, fruit and herbs stand out here.

A rather below average Agricole where you can feel the barrel influence, but I wouldn't have been able to classify the type. Very vegetal from nose to finish, lots of sugarcane and somewhat fruity. Somehow I don't get along with rums from Mauritius.

A bit flat on the nose, vegetal, fresh, caramel... I don't perceive anything from the Sauternes cask (no matter how hard I try). On the palate, I like it better, with vegetal, bitter, sweet, cask notes.

Triple Balan Family Selection Tasting. The nose is dominated by alcohol and fermented fruits. Not sure if that's positive or negative. On the palate, the alcohol is gone and thus well integrated. Molasses flavor comes forward and dried fruit. The finish is unfortunately not very long.

Nice Agricole note, the nose still very reserved but on the palate really great with the taste of herbs, wood, and cherry. Alcohol well integrated! Medium-length complex finish. Very solid and of course a pretty bottle! Was it really made from molasses???

again, these french girls! They don’t hold the promise upstairs. Quite nice on the nose with yellow fruits, buttery, a nice afternoon tee with clotted cream, vanilla. But on the palate, all is gone, all the promises and the excitement vanishes and a bit caramel and vanilla lasts. Short finish.
