Surprisingly light on oak for a 32-year-old — the wood stays in check while spice runs the show. Expect sharp cinnamon, fresh nutmeg, allspice and strong French-press coffee, with cocoa and orange peel filling in behind. Several tasters note it drinks drier than the sweeter Plantation Panamas before it. A polished, spice-forward column rum that a few here found a touch stereotypical on the palate.

Very tasty 1992 Panama Vintage! Significantly better than its predecessor from Plantation, which was also much sweeter. The main aromas here are spicy hot cinnamon, banana peel, intensely fresh allspice and nutty tonka bean, as well as black pepper and strongly brewed coffee from the French press. Reminiscent of cinnamon biscuits with a good cup of coffee! Nice selection and above all not too sweet! Very tasty and well balanced! Unexpectedly delicious and super drinkable!

32-year-old rum from Panama, RRP approx. 159€ that sounds like a surprisingly good offer. On the nose, the rum is surprisingly little woody for its age. In contrast, the spice plays first fiddle here, especially nutmeg. This is joined by a little orange peel, which works quite well. However, the rum somehow gets lost on the palate. Spice is still dominant, the wood impact is still limited, but apart from light citrus fruits, I have almost no fruit in the glass at all, but candied sugar sweetness, although not too intrusive. Despite a good PLV, this rum unfortunately doesn't manage to win me over. And in the end it just remains a very old rum. Too bad.

In the nose chocolate, honey sweetness, nutmeg, maple syrup generally nice spiciness although restrained, little fruit some candied peach. In the mouth very oily consistency full pipe dark chocolate some coconut allspice and nutmeg pleasant sweetness. Virtually zero fruitiness ... Perhaps a little raisin but coated in chocolate. Some bitterness in the finish.

On aeration, cocoa turns into dark chocolate, coffee, leather, tobacco arise, some cinnamon and dried fruits, banana 8,5:On the palate, the attack is spicy with cinnamon, nutmeg and dark with candied licorice, roasted wood notes like fudge, nuts, leather, then lightens up a bit with pastry, caramel and brown sugar and dried fruits like apricots, citrus and later coconut.The molasses is a bit herbaceous, when the rum is rested, also some metallic patina glows. 8,4:The finish is long, dry and tannic, with smoky and spicy wood notes, sweet tones and dried fruits, grapefruit...

#7302 15,09.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after getting back from the hospital after cutting my hand. Needed some stitching but nothing serious got hit though I made a blood bath at home. Listening to some Armin van Buuren on Spotify. Very nice bottling that had a good price tag at release. Well balanced profile with natural sweetness, fruits, spice, nutts, chocolate, honey, roasted wood, coffee and faint biscuits.

Very nice Don Pancho! (I hope I'm not writing anything wrong) In any case, I like the profile, even if the alcohol could be a little better integrated and you can clearly taste the column. But I like the profile with chocolate, cinnamon and bourbon.

Unbelievable
Review by ...and a bottle of Rum.
Nose: Cinnamon bun & crumble cake, vanilla and something like freshly peeled nutmeg. Palate: Vanilla and some spice from the barrel, a hint of cardamom. Somehow a very stereotypical rum taste. Not particularly exciting, but not bad either. The finish is of medium length, nothing new. You can do it, but for the money the much more roasty raw cask is more to my taste. Very solid by Plantation/Planteray standards.
