Ordered and tried the new Falernum right away on community recommendation. Neat and in a 'Corn n oil.' Well, neat is borderline for me. The spices and sweetness are too intense, but that's how it's supposed to be. In the Corn n oil, it works really well. Since it lacks lime, I had to add it. So the first try is very promising.

Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei der Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. Das neue Falernum von uns bei Perola. Die Basis bilden Barbados und Jamaica Rum um etwas Fruchtigkeit und Würze und minimal funk mit reinzubringen. Tonkabohne, Mandeln, Piment, Zimt und Nelken werden dezent von Ingwer und Muskatnuss ergänzt. Auf Limette haben wir bewusst verzichtet, da diese eh frisch in fast jedem Falernum Cocktail dazu kommt und die Haltbarkeit verändert hätte. Ein meiner Meinung nach wirklich gut gewordenes Falernum, welches insbesondere im Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, three dots and a dash und im Dead spicy lady eine sehr gute Figur macht!

Kleiner Nachtrag zum Vergleichstest von 3 Falernum mit DomM in der Blume von Hawaii. Danke an Franzi, die dies möglich gemacht hat. Für mich ist der Velvet der Gewinner. Meine Nr.2 der von Jürgen, der ein wenig künstlich wirkt. Der letzte Platz geht leider an Perola da mir die Limetten fehlen und die Nelke viel zu dominant ist

Now this is a very different animal. Very clove forwards. Spicey, dark and intense on the nose. Same on the palate. Very spice and clove forwards. Pretty sweet as well. Will definitely have a profound impact in your drinks. All in all this is very clove forwards. While more complex than pimento dram (in my mind), it can very much serve the same role. I like it very much, but it’s very different from the JDT style „school“ of falernum. Sideboard: while the bottle looks pretty nice, it’s an absolute piece of s*** to work with, as the sugar does a brilliant job glueing your bottle shut. Very much annoying if you don’t plan to go through the bottle quickly.
