Yellow tropical fruit — mango, passionfruit, peach — leads the nose, with vanilla and light oak behind it. What sets this TDL apart is how quiet the mint is: several tasters barely find it, which is a plus if you're tired of menthol bombs. The palate turns lighter, carrying warmth and a bright sweetness more than depth. One member sums it up as a "TDL 2009 light".

7,9:On the nose, slightly alcoholic, fresh and minty, sweet toasted wood notes like pastry, spicy allspice, oaky, citrus and yellow fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, vanilla and caramel arise, tropical fruits like pineapple, barrel impact is obvious, molasses is floral. 8,1:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, oily, buttery with toasted wood notes like caramel, biscuits, sweet, oaky, spicy with allspice, hot, molasses is minty, bitter, candied and fruits are tropical with pineapple, maracuja, peaches and grapefruit. 7,9:The finish is medium long, dry, light, minty, dark with licorice, fruity with yellow, tropical fruits, berries, oak is toasted with biscuits, pastry, caramel, sweet..

Small TDL (blind) crosstasting with various vintages: Down in 6th place: Dram Mor TDL 2007. Overall flat and boring, rather Spanish style. 5th place: FRC TDL 2002, lots of cannabis, beer and hops. You have to like it and be up for it. I liked the nose better than the palate. 4th place: FRC TDL 2009: restrained mint, lots of spices and cask influence. 3rd place: Single Cask Nation TDL 2003: Lots of mint and menthol overall, slightly floral/vegetable. Very good 2003 TDL, not quite at the same level as the Ricci in the cross-comparison. 2nd place: Spiritori TDL 2008: By far the dirtiest TDL in the tasting. Really good PLV! 1st place: Ricci TDL 2003: Mint, fruit and beautifully intense and complex.

A very fruity TDL with a lot of cask influence. In the background subtle mint, but maybe I just imagine it because it's TDL. Alcohol is super integrated. My first TDL from 2007, very good value for money.

T.D.L is no longer an insider tip. I have hardly had the 2007 vintage in my glass, if at all. The rum is brightly fruity with a somewhat pungent alcoholic nose and a wonderful attack on the palate, which is very reminiscent of the 2009 vintage with its mango, passion fruit and peach fruit basket. Unfortunately, the palate and finish become increasingly lax. Mint is of course also present, but very much in the background. The alcohol could be better integrated. Quasi a T.D.L 2009 light or zero.

Quite closed on the nose, some yellow fruit. Also yellow fruit and sweetness on the palate, no mint. Comparatively one-dimensional compared to other TDLs, although the alcohol is quite well integrated. The finish is also very much on the Spanish side, no mint, just a light sweetness Not really bad, but for me quite unspectacular compared to other TSPs.

A TDL in the mid-range where the typical Marker notes are noticeable, but there is an overall alcohol dominance. Despite the "only" 57.5 degrees, the rum feels stronger, so it lingers for a long time in the finish without being particularly complex – only the warmth and sweetness last long.

The nose is very mild, with little to pick up but the palate is full of flavour with caramel, sweet molasses, mint and Licorice. It easy easy drinking at the ABV and pretty moreish. Tasted as part of a UK Rum Club Dram Mor tasting hosted by the excellent Kenny McDonald of Dram Mor.

For me, who is a bit tired of mint bombs, a representative that hardly tastes of mint. Still, not a real bottling that will stay in my memory. Conclusion: the sample was enough.

#5514 31.07.2025 Had to pick up an order from whisky,dk and was offered this little sipper. Nose Light, fresh, fruits, light sweet, light wood, vanilla, faint mint, light anise. Palate Fresh, medium sweet, light wood, light anise, light berries, light spicy, light mint. Finish Medium long, light wood, light mint, berries, light spicy, faint licorice. Needs to rest for a while to really open up properly.

On the nose I find it terrible with its little notes of tropical fruits and grapes, it is really pleasant. But on the palate I have more trouble identifying something. Apart from the spicy and alcoholic side I have trouble discerning anything else which explains my rating.
