One of the highlights of yesterday's tasting. All possible aromas harmoniously woven, alcohol fantastically integrated. You can really tell that the distiller truly masters the high art of rum making. I think we can rightly expect a lot more from this distillery.

Despite almost 71% vol. surprisingly mild: nutty, slightly fruity, with pleasant honey sweetness and typical bourbon notes. Created from the attempt to make a high-ester rum according to German law – with Cachaca yeast and lactic acid cultures. Great work by Werner Huber, who really lives rum.

Compliments to Mr. Feller, this guy really knows his craft. You can tell a lot of passion went into this. For me a very successful drop, but unfortunately it doesn’t quite grab me enough for a very good rating.

#5876 19.10.2025 Relaxing in front of the TV with a new Japanese crime series. Nose Fresh, medium intense, light wood, light caramel, light chocolate, dried fruit, light nutts. Palate Round, medium intense, warm, light wood, faint roasted, light nutts, dried fruit, light citrus, spice, light caramel. Finish Very long and warm, light orange, light raisin, light caramel, light toasted. Empty glas Vanilla, caramel, chocolate, light orange. ABV integration is near perfection for such a hivh abv.

Okay as a rum but for being from Germany quite good. Doesn't blow me away though. Some fruit brandy notes in it and not quite round. Nice to have tried but I wouldn't need a bottle now.

Guys, what can you say about this one? Almost 71% vol. and so mild. Alcohol noticeable, but at this strength it's really marginal. Light fruitiness, nutty, a very pleasant honey sweetness, the typical aromas recognizable after bourbon aging in rum. But now I just want to let the rum be rum and briefly mention the person responsible at the Feller distillery for these really great rums. Werner Huber! Werner, you live this spirit like no one else I've met so far. I'm very curious what you'll bring to our glasses in the coming years.

I first tasted this rum at The Village 2025 fair in Nuremberg and took a bottle at the fair price. The story behind it is very interesting: the attempt to create a high-ester rum despite German food laws, since some typical ingredients of Jamaican distilleries would not be allowed in Germany. So here they used cachaça yeast from Brazil and lactic acid cultures. The result is surprisingly successful and 70.9% very well integrated. Also worth mentioning is a medicinal note in the finish, which only appears isolated after a while and I'm still not sure if I find it interesting or unpleasant.
