#7147 11.08.2026 Time to run some samples. Walking and biking training for today is done and now it's time to relax. Watching Gold Rush on Max. Pretty nice release with a good price tag at release in my mind. Well rounded Demerara with roasted wood, molasses, nutts, fruits, spice and caramel.

Burnt sugar, molasses, vanilla and tobacco. Something tart sour cherry citrus or similar on the nose. Similar in the mouth, light sweetness and caramel with raisins and wood. Generally tasty but somehow weak and unspectacular.

Shows dark spice notes, nutty depth, and some dried fruit. The 48.8% alcohol content provides a solid presence, but does not come across as particularly expressive. Ripe aromas on the nose, some citrus fruit, molasses, and subtle spice. Overall, decent, but not entirely convincing.

Super smooth, tropical-aged Guyana rum. Beautiful sweetness, yellow fruits, molasses, caramel, milk chocolate, tropical esters, light glue. What a round, smooth rum! I really like it!

A nice Demerara profile in itself, but overall a little too drinkable - lots of sweetness from caramel, vanilla, treacle, plus fresh citrus fruit notes flanked by some oak aromas from the barrel. It could have been a few more percent by volume, which would probably have resulted in a little more complexity. Overall, very pleasing and also quite round, but aromatically a tick too flat for me.
