Un nez plus frais qu’attendu, même si les esters sont bien présents. Fruits tropicaux légèrement fermentés, fruits jaunes. Le bois est en soutient. On sent la douceur du fût de sherry mais elle est ici complémentaire. Le sherry adoucit la bouche et les esters y sont moins prononcés qu’au nez. Un petit côté poivré relève le côté doux du sherry. La bouche est pleine, savoureuse, même si la complexité n’est pas au top. La finale est longue, équilibrée entre les fruits secs, le boisé, les esters et les fruits frais. Une très belle sélection de la Cave Guildive.

This one is strange. Calmed, fruity, not so sharp esthers and iodisol as a additional taste that overhelms everything after few secs. I dont like that iodisol taste, otherwise 8,4

8,3:On the nose, esters and nail polish, glue, fermented, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, some citrus fruits, briny olive, roasted wood notes, spicy, sweet with marzipan, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the red fruits are slightly rotten, so a bit pungency breaks out, sherry finish is obvious with various dried fruits like apricots and raisins, new roasted notes with nuts, pastry. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters, fruity with overripe tropical fruits like banana, pineapple, red and citrus fruits, the molasses brings briny olive, as the wood is roasted, sweet with pastry, roasted nuts, caramel, spicy with black pepper and ginger, sherry finish brings also dried, candied fruits. As some of the fruits are slightly rotten, pungency arises. 8,4:The finish is long, dry, less balanced, but creamy with roasted wood notes, slightly smoky and spicy, oaky, esters are still present, the molasses is vegetal, grassy, the fruits citrus, dried and tropical. After the 9GRF SBS another 2018 DOK with PX finish, but now already 6 years in the barrel instead of 1.5. Besides the fermented fruits on the nose, also a sweetish spice. On the palate surprisingly punchy, despite the 'only' 54%. I quite like it, almost easy drinking for a DOK 😄

Verrückt - in der Nase rieche ich anfangs Kaugummi, danach eine wilde Kombination aus Estern, Nagellack, vergorenen tropischen Früchten und getoastetem Holz. Später kommt noch Sherry zum Vorschein. Im Gaumen leider nicht mehr so interessant wie die Nase. Alkohol fast zu intensiv trotz Verdünnung

#7148 11.08.2026 Time to run some samples. Walking and biking training for today is done and now it's time to relax. Watching Gold Rush on Max. Pretty good DOK with a nice price tag in my mind. Medium intense profile with glue, overripe fruits, sherry, marzipan, spice and ester.

Sherry finish and low ABV, I feared worse and what can I say. I was disappointed, I like the bottling well, very smooth for a DOK. I could even get a bottle of it.

Basically not bad for such a "young" DOK. In my opinion, this bottling lacks a bit of kick. The typical markers are present, but I unfortunately miss the 100% funk.

Pleasant Hampden, the fruit notes are predictably present on the nose, on the palate the sherry cask plays a pleasantly tempering role – the dried fruit aromas are present but not overpowering. Among Hampdens with PX finish, a pleasant representative.

Dok and a sherry cask is a potential for disaster, because as it is here the sherry cask really tones down the dock a lot. BUT, I think it works here rather nicely. In terms of drink ability this gains a lot. Well done
