Sherry finishes and I usually don't become friends. Accordingly, I approached this bottling cautiously. On the nose, a nice potpourri of raisins, berries, influences from the two different maturations, and a bit of barrel. This continues on the palate. Additionally, the rum from Feller offers a bit of milk chocolate and a fine sweetness. Fine sherry notes for which other bottlers sometimes seem to have "forgotten" a bit of sherry in the cask. I find the slightly soapy aromas in the aftertaste a bit disturbing. We won't be best friends, but for me it's more than just a solid easy sipper.

Feller really has awesome rums for a German distillery. Unfortunately here the sherry cask comes through a bit too strongly, unfortunately. Otherwise quite nice, the 62.8% barely noticeable, light sweetness, caramel and vanilla are recognizable.

Nose Fresh, medium intense, wood, light sherry, dried fruit, faint caramel, faint earthy. Palate Warm, round, fresh, wood, medium intense, dried fruit, light citrus, light nutts, light chocolate, light sherry. Finish Medium to long, wood, light raisin, light chocolate, faint nutts, light sherry. Empty glass Light vanilla, chocolate, light nutts, light burnt sugar.
