A very beautiful nose with tropical fruits, tar, and fermented vegetal notes. Also fresh vegetal with lovage and parsley. The palate entry is powerful, with tropical fruits, yellow fruits, and apricot. I also sense floral notes, clover flowers. The finish is acidic, giving a lot of freshness to the fruits, and the wood remains discreet.

Nose: multi-layered, herbs, dark chocolate, red and dried fruits, could be a T.D.L. Palate: herbs, mint, cask, apricots, probably a 2003 T.D.L? Alcohol well integrated, approx. 60%, Finish: long, mint, fruity, cask, slightly bitter, fresh, menthol I suspect a 2003 T.D.L but somehow too round for T.D.L Ha! Not T.D.L but Chairmans Reserve! Amazingly close to T.D.L but more balanced and without the dirty note. I like it very much!

Absolute Überraschung und für mich DAS Highlight der (offiziell zu verkostenden😉) Abfüllungen auf dem GRF 2025! Nachdem ich bei den ersten vier Standard-Abfüllungen des Chairman's-Tastings leider schon fast eingeschlafen war, elektrisierte mich der Inhalt des letzten Glases - und nicht nur mich! Dieser Chairman's ist unglaublich gut gelungen, auch wenn man blind nie auf Saint Lucia gekommen wäre, wenn man nicht gerade in der Destillerie arbeitet. Mir hat vor allem die Abgerundetheit gefallen und dass man eine lange Fermentation rausschmecken konnte (auch wenn es tatsächlich wohl nur 48 Stunden waren, falls ich mich richtig erinnere). Der Rum wirkt irgendwie sehr erdig und würzig und sehr ursprünglich, also einfach nah an der Natur, wenn ich das mal so sagen darf. Ich schätze, zu Beginn des Tastings war dieser neue Rum allen noch komplett unbekannt. Umso erstaunlicher, dass er zum Zeitpunkt des offiziellen Tastings auf der Messe schon ausverkauft war. Wer da so früh schon den richtigen Riecher gehabt hat, bleibt ein Rätsel. Fazit: Ein wie aus dem Nichts aufgetauchter Rum, den man unbedingt mal probiert haben sollte. Sensationell!

#5612 31.08.2025 Chairman's Reserve tasting at the German Rum Fest 2025. This one is the bomb and I could smell it as soon as I sat down at the table. The ABV is perfectly integrated and it has a medium intense nose with wood and ester like notes. The is also light ginger and tobacco backed with light chocolate and caramel. This is a rum you should give a try if you get the chance.

Messebewertung: Wow - Granate! Muss mir ne Flasche besorgen. Leider dachten das wohl alle. Im blind Tasting hätte ich auf NY 05 oder 09 getippt. Dieser Rum hat einfach so viel Ester und Tropische Früchte, dass man nicht an einen Chairmans Reserve denken würde

Really strong Chairman with a wonderfully rounded profile. On the nose, dark fruits, some wood, spices, and a light sweetness. On the palate, nicely full-bodied and complex, with ripe fruit, spicy notes, and a pleasant depth. Everything fits together well, the alcohol is excellently integrated. A really successful bottling that I like very much.

What a beast, ester and camphor honey and grass. Fruit over fruit, sometimes tropical sometimes apricot. Spices and wood round it all off. This is absolutely the pinnacle of chairman's for me. An incredible experience
