Swell de Spirits Hampden On Tour Series #8 (Limoges Spirits Festival) 2025
The whole room smells of fermented pineapple and banana the moment you pour it — full Hampden ester bomb, with plenty of glue, nail polish and acetone underneath. Tasters get overripe tropical fruit, pepper spice, a faint sour edge, and a creamy palate that turns to milk chocolate and caramel pastry. At 64.9% it runs hot; one drop of water tames the first sting.
- Huge ester intensity
- Overripe tropical fruit
- Long creamy finish

Hot, funky Hampden ester bomb Fans of Hampden funk rate this highly for its ester punch, creamy body and long finish. Two recurring gripes: the alcohol bites early, and a few find it slightly too sour or bitter.

I love this blend of fermented tropical fruits, esters and spices. That's exactly my thing, Mika hit the bull's eye with the blend of C<>H (2007 Bar 1802) and the <>H 2013 Eastern Tales. I don't really notice the finish in the Guyana cask, I might have to taste the two rums in the blend again individually. The rum has a great creaminess on the palate and an eternally long finish. Only the alcohol is a little too sharp, but it still scores 90 points for me.

#5821 03.10.2025 Enjoying a few samples after work while listening to some heavy Psy Trance. Nose Medium intense, light wood, fruity, overripe, ester, spice, glue.. Palate Medium intense, light wood, faint smoke, fruity, overripe, ester, cinnamon, glue, light floral, faint sour. Finish Long and warm, fruits, light wood, spice, faint caramel, light pineapple. Empty glass Vanilla, light chocolate, light caramel. A very nice rum at an OK price tag in my mind.

Tasted together with the reduced Franconian Tasting Gang. You can recognize the clear Hampden markers that you might expect. In my opinion, it has a little too much sourness, which can't quite balance out the sweetness.
Review by Skyfly
This cuvée is a really brilliant ester bomb! From the moment you pour it into the glass, you can perceive the intense aromas throughout the room. From nose to finish, tropical fruits, esters, wood and spices are perfectly combined and the alcohol is excellently integrated.

It has far too much acidity in the mix for my taste ... both on the nose and on the palate. But otherwise all the relevant aromas are there and the palate has a great sweetness (in addition to the aforementioned acidity).
Review by TheJackDrop
Tasted at the Lille gin show, under the table! Of course, the big slap of esters is there, as is the fruit, it's fat and very ripe. But there's also some nice spice and a little milk chocolate that adds sweetness at the end of the profile.

Interesting blend - even more so since I tried both components of said blend separately. Conclusion : the parts are better than the sum on this case. The nose is interesting but a bit flat and the taste is slightly bitter. All Hampden markers are there though and it is a very pleasant drink !

J'aime beaucoup !
