8,4:On the nose, esters&menthol bump into our nosetrils, tropical fruits, tons of confectionery like orange/chocolate biscuits, gingerbread, roasted, nutty wood with burnt sugar, candied, caramelized and fruits like cherry. On aeration, dried fruits like raisins, other red fruits and banana arise, cola, Demerara sugar, smoky notes and a vegetal side with tea and tobacco. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is sweet with candies and candied fruits, citrus, red and dried fruits, balanced, slightly bitter, the wood is roasted, smoky with nuts, leather, tons of confectionery, burnt sugar, caramelized, chocolate, spicy with allspice.Some vegetal aspect with herbaceous, grassy notes arises, some black tea.After resting the rum, another layer of notes breaks out with strong raspberry, tropical fruits, prunes marmelade, esters and even sugarcane, vanilla, a bit salty... 8,4:The finish is long and dry, round, tannic and metallic, darker with coffee, smoky tones and confectionery, fruits like cherry, berries and raspberry.. Nice piece, thanks for that SaibotZtar. Cool blend. Cherry is just primarily recognizable in the nose and palate, otherwise it is still quite roasty but also tastes very dark. Red fruits are also recognizable. Top.

What a color... Memories of cough syrup from my childhood come to mind😉! On the nose a nice light red fruit composition and some vanilla. On the palate it spreads soft and smooth. Initially a slight sweetness, then a distinct marzipan/cherry note follows (almost like a TenCane), I also perceive allspice, chocolate, vanilla and minimal wood. In the finish dominate allspice, light tannins and cherry. A good balanced Navy Blend. Many thanks Tobias (saibotZtar) that I could enjoy your successful project 👍🏻🙏🏻

Extremely good blend! Someone knows what they're doing here. Super fun to drink. Also mega smooth. The heavy dark influences are very well balanced with the cherry-fruity notes. Great multi-layered finish. More of this please 🙌🏼

Wow! What a dark color. The first nose is marked by Jamaican esters but immediately sweetness, red fruits, black cherry. The wood and alcohol are controlled. With time, on the nose, the cherry, a beautiful indulgent cherry dominates. Almost a cherry clafoutis nose. Reminds me of an old agricole, like Courcelles. The entry on the palate is a bit watery, diluted, then the aromas arrive. Cherry and old varnished wood, pepper and dried fruits, bitter pastries. The finish is rather short even if the wood and sweetness linger. Thanks Rodolphe and SaibotZtar for the experience!

Successful cask experiment with intense, dark notes, which are already hinted at by the strong color. Pleasantly balanced, without drifting into the over-woody or over-spicy. Berries, cherries and a hint of menthol bring freshness to the profile and create excitement. Thanks to Tobi for the opportunity to try this rum.

Der wohl dunkelste Rum den ich bisher im Glas hatte - wobei die Farbe etwas auf den Geschmack abfärbt. Von Nase bis Abgang sehr ausgewogene Röst-und Fruchtaromen, wobei die Kirsche ganz klar im Vordergrund steht. Im Gaumen gebrannter Zucker und etwas Ester. Abgang etwas kurz. Für eine Home-Experiment eine wahrlich gelungene Überraschung!

Super dark color 🤩😎 On the nose I have licorice root, cherry wood, caramel, PM marker, also Agricole. I don't perceive the Jamaica portion. On the palate lots of spice, allspice, caramel sweetness, barrel. Really like it! Thanks a lot for the split, Tobi!

I really like the interaction of the lovely fruity aromas of the distillates, where cherry and berries dominate, with the roasted, sometimes even charred oak contribution of the small cask. Personally, the spices - especially allspice - come through a bit too strongly in the taste, but the cherry-cola combo that appears in between is really nice. A successful project, well done!

On the nose lots of smoke/charred wood. Plus raisin and a hint of menthol freshness. Interesting combination, already going well in the direction of the Navy Blends I know with maybe a bit less fruit. On the palate then a similar impression. Burnt sugar, slightly bitter, woody and ripe red fruit. After 1.5 years, so much cask influence is quite interesting. It also makes sense to read that smaller barrels "work faster." Thanks for the great experiment and the sharing. Very insightful for me.

While the cask definitely did some work and nicely fused the blend components together in the relatively short time of aging, the dominant feature here is clearly the intense fruitiness (particularly on the palate). I get a lot of cherry bubblegums alongside dark woody notes. Very successful experiment imho. Thanks for sharing with the community! :)

Nice project by SaibotZtar. Very fruity with a nice cherry note, a bit nutty and a bit woody. Brings quite a lot of sweetness. Alcohol is well integrated. Finish unfortunately a bit short. But overall a rounded thing.

Dark color, strongly brownish. A very diverse nose. Fruity, caramel, woody-spicy. No one dominates. On the palate it continues similarly, very good, long and warming finish. Nice experiment!! The crew would surely have liked it.

A very tasty blend. One of the darkest colors I’ve ever had in a glass. Really suits my personal taste. The only downside is the mouthfeel could be a bit more intense. Still, many thanks to SaibotZtar for letting us take part in this experiment.

Very dark rum. Light workshop notes on the nose. Quite pleasant with light ester notes. Very pleasant on the palate. However, also something very sweet and fruity. Perhaps cherry. Very rusty. Finish slightly short.

Second rum at the private tasting with Kevin. The color deceives about the initially fruity first impression, cool cherry almost like chewing gum, plus burnt sugar and slight TDL menthol hints that come out at the back. Very good experiment, the Grade 3 cask is not as brutal as the color suggests, really fun, the peculiarities of the individual rums support each other fantastically - great story that should be repeated!

Super tolle Baby Blend, geniales Projekt. Das passt wirklich gut zusamme. Leichter Ester mit viel viel Frucht (Kirsche, Rosinen). Den Agricol hätte ich nicht erkannt, auch wenn im Abgang etwas stark „florales“ in den Vordergrund tritt. Nur der Abgang is etwas kurz. Aber schön süffig !

Tolles Fassprojekt, mit Liebe umgesetzt. Herausgekommen ist ein interessanter Rumblend, ob man es als Navy betiteln kann lässt sich streiten. Meine erster Gedanke war Madeira Rum ;-) , dann kam aber die Minze ins Spiel und machte das Ganze recht interessant. Der Gaumen ist er sehr ausgewogen, alles hält sich schön in Balance. Gefällt mir gut, bin beim nächsten Projekt dabei. ;-) 👍🏻

A very nice blend, thanks Saibot:) On the nose i find leaning twarda Jamaica with ripe banana. On palate i first pick up Guyana and the some dirtiness from Trinidad. Might have to look for Agricole on the second sitting.

I've been looking forward to this one for a long time! Dark nose, matching the color. Roasted notes, burnt sugar with a hint of menthol. Also licorice and candied fruit. On the palate, it becomes woodier but overall stays with the dark, slightly burnt notes. Finish a bit short. Still a successful experiment, great!

Schöner Blend, der sich von anderen aktuellen Navy-Releases positiv abhebt. Bringt die Schwere und Tiefe reifer Guyana-Releases mit, hat daneben aber auch die intensive Fruchtigkeit und frischen Minzeinschlag, die wohl auf Jamaika und Trinidad zurückzuführen sind - und der Agricole-Part fügt sich ebenfalls nahtlos ein. Ob die Süsse, die kraftvollen Holznoten, beides oder doch nichts davon auf selbigen Bestandteil zurückzuführen sind, ist schwer auszumachen; untern Strich ists auch einerlei, denn das Resultat macht Spass. Chapeau!

Farbe: Wild. Sehr dunkel für 1,5y aber eher braun mit gelben Reflexen statt dem rotbraun/mahaghoni was man sonst so kennt. Da hat das verkohlte Fass ganze Arbeit geleistet. Nase: Fruchtiger als erwartet! Maraschino Kirsche. Süßlich/Lieblich. Melasse oder dunkles Karamell finde ich nicht. Hm, definitiv anders als erwartet. Gaumen: Auch hier fruchtiger uns süßlicher als gedacht. Ok, ich glaube ich habe mich zu sehr vom "Navy" im Namen leiten lassen. Ich meine etwas fruchtig/esteriges zu schmecken, vermutlich von der Jamaica Komponente. Erdbeeren, Kirschen, rote Gummibärchen?! Alkoholgehalt ist nicht abgegeben, wirkt aber wie um die 50%. Schön eingebunden. Abgang: Mittellang und immernoch auf der fruchtigen Seite. Fass hat ordentlich Farbe gegeben aber keine Bitterkeit. Toller Blend! Fruchtig und rund. Ob das Navy-Thema jetzt voll getroffen wurde... ich denke die Matrosen wären genau so überrascht gewesen wie ich.
