Sipped neat, this one throws people off: it's about the darkest rum most tasters have ever poured, yet it drinks bright and fruity. Cherry leads — several call it "cherry bubblegum" — over burnt sugar, roasted oak and a whiff of menthol. A charred small-cask blend at 55% that stays round, not harsh. The one recurring gripe: the finish runs a little short.

8,4:On the nose, esters&menthol bump into our nosetrils, tropical fruits, tons of confectionery like orange/chocolate biscuits, gingerbread, roasted, nutty wood with burnt sugar, candied, caramelized and fruits like cherry. On aeration, dried fruits like raisins, other red fruits and banana arise, cola, Demerara sugar, smoky notes and a vegetal side with tea and tobacco. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is sweet with candies and candied fruits, citrus, red and dried fruits, balanced, slightly bitter, the wood is roasted, smoky with nuts, leather, tons of confectionery, burnt sugar, caramelized, chocolate, spicy with allspice.Some vegetal aspect with herbaceous, grassy notes arises, some black tea.After resting the rum, another layer of notes breaks out with strong raspberry, tropical fruits, prunes marmelade, esters and even sugarcane, vanilla, a bit salty... 8,4:The finish is long and dry, round, tannic and metallic, darker with coffee, smoky tones and confectionery, fruits like cherry, berries and raspberry.. Nice piece, thanks for that SaibotZtar. Cool blend. Cherry is just primarily recognizable in the nose and palate, otherwise it is still quite roasty but also tastes very dark. Red fruits are also recognizable. Top.

Was für eine Farbe….Erinnerungen an Hustensaft aus meiner Kindheit werden da wach😉! An der Nase eine schöne leichte rote Fruchtkomposition und etwas Vanille. Am Gaumen verteilt er sich weich und geschmeidig. Anfangs eine leicht Süsse, der dann eine deutliche Marzipan-/Kirschnote folgt (fast wie ein TenCane), weiterhin nehme ich Piment, Schokolade, Vanille und minimal Holz wahr. Im Abgang dominieren Piment, leichte Tannine und Kirsche. Ein guter ausgewogener NavyBlend. Vielen Dank Tobias (saibotZtar), dass ich in den Genuss Deines gelungenen Projektes kommen durfte 👍🏻🙏🏻

Successful cask experiment with intense, dark notes, which are already hinted at by the strong color. Pleasantly balanced, without drifting into the over-woody or over-spicy. Berries, cherries and a hint of menthol bring freshness to the profile and create excitement. Thanks to Tobi for the opportunity to try this rum.

Whoua ! Quelle couleur sombre. Le premier nez est marqué par les esters jamaïcains mais tout de suite de la douceur, des fruits rouges, de la cerise noire. Le bois et l’alcool sont maîtrisés. Avec du temps, au nez, la cerise , une belle cerise gourmande domine. Presque un nez de clafoutis à la cerise. Me fait penser à un vieil agricole, comme le Courcelles. L’entrée de bouche est un peu acqueuse, diluée, puis les arômes arrivent. Cerise et vieux bois verni, piment et fruits secs, pâtisseries amères. La finale est plutôt courte même si le bois et la douceur resent longtemps. Merci Rodolphe et SaibotZtar pour l’expérience !

Super dunkle Farbe 🤩😎 An der Nase habe ich Süßholzwurzel, Kirschholz, Karamell, PM-Marker, auch Agricole. Den Jamaika-Anteil nehme ich nicht wahr. Am Gaumen viel Würze, Piment, Karamell-Süße, Fass. Gefällt mir wirklich gut! vielen Dank für den Split, Tobi!

Extrem guter Blend! Da weiss jemand was er macht. Macht super Spass zu trinken. Auch mega süffig. Die schweren dunklen Einflüsse werden mit dem kirsch-fruchtigen sehr gut aufgehoben und balanciert. Toller vielschichtiger Abgang. Gerne mehr davon🙌🏼

Der wohl dunkelste Rum den ich bisher im Glas hatte - wobei die Farbe etwas auf den Geschmack abfärbt. Von Nase bis Abgang sehr ausgewogene Röst-und Fruchtaromen, wobei die Kirsche ganz klar im Vordergrund steht. Im Gaumen gebrannter Zucker und etwas Ester. Abgang etwas kurz. Für eine Home-Experiment eine wahrlich gelungene Überraschung!

Die Interaktion der lieblichen Fruchtaromen der Destillate, bei denen Kirsche und Beerenfrüchte tonangebend sind, mit dem röstigen, bisweilen sogar verkohlt wirkenden Eichenbeitrag des kleinen Fasses, gefällt mir richtig gut. Mir persönlich kommen im Geschmack ein bisschen zu stark die Gewürze - insbesonder Piment - durch, aber die zwischenzeitlich auftauchende Kirsch-Cola-Kombi ist echt schön. Ein gelungenes Projekt, toll gemacht!

Schönes Projekt von SaibotZtar. Sehr fruchtig mit schöner Kirschnote, etwas nussig und etwas Holz. Bringt relativ viel Süße mit. Alkohol ist gut eingebunden. Abgang leider etwas kurz. Aber ist insgesamt eine runde Sache.

An der Nase viel Rauch/verkohltes Holz. Dazu Rosine und ein Hauch Mentholfrische. Interessante Kombination, geht schon gut in die Richtung der mir bekannten Navy Blends mit vielleicht etwas weniger Frucht. Am Gaumen dann ein ähnlicher Einschlag. Verbrannter Zucker, leicht bitter, holzig und reife rote Frucht. Nach 1,5 Jahren so viel fasseinfluss ist schon interessant. Da macht es auch Sinn zu lesen, dass kleinere Fässer „schneller“ arbeiten. Danke für das tolle Experiment und die Teilung. Für mich sehr aufschlussreich.

Dunkle Farbe, stark ins bräunliche. Eine sehr vielfältige Nase. Fruchtig, Karamell, holzig-würzig. Niemand hat die Oberhand Im Mund geht es ähnlich weiter, sehr guter, langer und wärmender Abgang. Schönes Experiment!! Hätte der Crew sicher geschmeckt.

Zweiter Rum beim Private-Tasting mit Kevin. Die Farbe täuscht über den zunächst fruchtige Ersteindruck hinweg, coole Kirsche fast wie bei einem Kaugummi, dazu gebrannter Zucker und leichte TDL Menthol-Anleihen, die hinten herum rauskommen. Sehr gutes Experiment, das Grad 3 Fass kommt nicht so brachial daher wie man bei der Farbe vermutet, macht richtig Laune, die Eigenheiten der einzelnen Rums unterstützen sich phantastisch gegenseitig - tolle Geschichte, die gerne wiederholt werden sollte!

Very dark rum. Light workshop notes on the nose. Quite pleasant with light ester notes. Very pleasant on the palate. However, also something very sweet and fruity. Perhaps cherry. Very rusty. Finish slightly short.

Ein sehr schmackhafter Blend. Von der Farbe mit das dunkelste was ich jemals im Glas hatte. Trifft meinen persönlichen Geschmack schon sehr. Einziges Manko, das Mundgefühl könnte etwas intensiver sein. Trotzdem herzlichen Dank an SaibotZtar, dass wir an diesem Experiment teilhaben durften.

Super tolle Baby Blend, geniales Projekt. Das passt wirklich gut zusamme. Leichter Ester mit viel viel Frucht (Kirsche, Rosinen). Den Agricol hätte ich nicht erkannt, auch wenn im Abgang etwas stark „florales“ in den Vordergrund tritt. Nur der Abgang is etwas kurz. Aber schön süffig !

A very nice blend, thanks Saibot:) On the nose i find leaning twarda Jamaica with ripe banana. On palate i first pick up Guyana and the some dirtiness from Trinidad. Might have to look for Agricole on the second sitting.
