Swell de Spirits Diamond Arcade Series #3 (V&B France) PM 2011

8.4/10
Rated by TheJackDrop, Skyfly & 24 more

Most tasters land it in the low-to-mid 8s: a young-but-tasty Port Mourant from Diamond, dark and roasted rather than bright. Think coffee, dark chocolate, charred wood, licorice and dried prunes, with a sweet-without-sugar feel. A few wished it had spent longer in the cask; one found the vegetal, root-like side hard to love. Still gourmand and easy to keep sipping.

  • Dark coffee notes
  • Roasted oak depth
  • Licorice and dried fruit

Atypique !

As I write this review, I still have the taste of a latte with a hint of chocolate syrup in my mouth - a completely new experience. The coffee flavor runs through the entire tasting, accompanied by varying degrees of chocolate and wood notes. There is also some fruit and caramel on the palate. Conclusion: really delicious!
