Hampden fans who like their funk on the softer side will get this one fast. It's a tropically-aged blend of three marks — grilled pineapple, ripe banana, vanilla bean cream and a smoky industrial edge. Several tasters call the mouthfeel creamy and dense, especially with water. The main gripe is youth: the wood and spirit can clash, and the finish reads dry to some.

After a few less exciting HV release, I like this one very much. Intense and diverse tropical fruit basket on the nose. The <>H component is in the driver seat here. On the palate also very nice. Balanced with tropical fruits and quite some wood despite the moderate age. LROK is dominating here. All in all a very nice blend. The dirfeent marks work very well together, adding complexity. Moderate age brings a vibrant expression yet with „enough“ notes from the cask to add maturity and complexity.

In the glass, it is quite viscous with a light amber color. On the nose, you can immediately tell that it is a Hampden, but the alcohol is very persistent, even after some time. On the palate, in addition to the typical fruit notes that distinguish it, the alcohol is very present and, in my opinion, not very well integrated, perhaps due to its young age. I find it very immature. The finish is short and the alcohol is still very persistent. P.S.: purely personal opinion.

8,5:On the nose, fermented notes like cream, yoghurt, cheese, esters, overripe tropical fruits like banana and pineapple, red fruits, flowery, grassy molasses, vegetal with briny olive and sweet, roasted wood notes, smoky with cream toffee, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the rum is funky, pungent, solvents are stronger, various burnt, roasted notes join like caramel, roasted nuts, spices like vanilla and anise. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is creamy, balanced with fermented notes like cream, overripe tropical fruits like pineapple and banana, lime, red fruits, some candied, vegetal, slightly bitter with briny olive, medicinal with esters, later rubber, as the wood is roasted, sweet with gingerbread, fruit cake, spicy with vanilla, anise, ginger.When the rum is well rested, dryness crawls in, the molasses becomes flowery, herbaceous, grassy and minty, joined by chilli. 8,4:The finish is medium long, very dry, slightly tannic, as various medicinal notes like soap, rubber, phenol, pair fermented tones with cream and tropical, citrus fruits, roasted wood notes, smoky and spicy. First of all, many thanks to adrianV for getting and sharing the bottle. Tasted it right after the 2014 Hampden Rumclub and my conclusion is that it tasted much better, even though it's a blend of different brands. Very cool bottling, unfortunately only available in the USA, otherwise I would go for it like a madman, definitely a hit in MaiTai.

#7077 23.07.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after a bit over 20 km of walking and 60 km on the bike today. Streaming a bit of Tomorrowland on Youtube. A very nice bottling at the release price was pretty nice. I paid 131 euro for a bottle. Fruity rum with nice plastic, solvenr, spice, caramel and light roasted wood.

If you look at the cask strength, the ratio is 50% LFCH, 40% LROK and 10% <>H. Not an ester monster on the nose either, more on the fruity and spicy side, but all very harmonious. I almost like it even better on the palate, with marzipan and somehow wintry spice notes. A successful blend. Thanks to Adrian for the shared US souvenir

And then to "finish" 4x Hampden. This one definitely pleases, fermented tropical fruits, of course banana and pineapple, as well as esters are present here. A tasty, funky Hampden.

A Hampden blend from Velier for the USA... and I find it quite successful. On the nose as well as on the palate, the individual aromas of the different marks are clearly recognizable. The interplay is also well balanced and pleasant. Very tasty blend. I would have loved to have a bottle of that.

Solid Hampden with the expected ester and fruit notes, clean and typical. Fun in the glass, but offers no special surprises or unique selling points. A good, reliable representative, no more, but also no less.

Very tasty LFCH! You definitely can't complain. But overall still really young. I simply like the older Jamaicans more. But the alcohol is very well integrated and the finish is long-lasting.

Poured from a bottle that's been open for about ~1 year, and is 80% full. Very good Habitation bottle of three Hampden marks. Softer on the industrial esters with this blend, but makes up with great tropical fruit notes and a luscious mouthfeel. The youthfulness of the bulk of the blend stands out unfortunately with the wood and distillate clashing too much, and prevents this from being rated higher. I think this specific blend of marks could do very well with much longer age. Edit: 21/8/2026 - Adjusted score from 8.2 to 8.3

Actually delicious in comparison to the last HV Hampdens, but still a little too young for my taste. I think it lacks a little more depth through additional maturation. Apart from that, a good blend.

We finish with a little Habitation Velier Hampden 2024, a blend made for PM spirits, mixing marks LROK, <>H, and LFCH. It's a fairly young and lively Jamaican at 60°. The nose is powerful with plenty of esters: grilled pineapple, very ripe banana, quite complex with lots of spices: nutmeg, vanilla. The empyreumatic notes are also there with a fairly smoky scent, and caramel that's been left burnt. On the palate, we get the famous olives in brine, and that still very smoky side, like anchovy paste. The ripe exotic fruits (especially pineapple, forgotten mango) are also present, but more spicy with plenty of ginger. This last one haunts us in the very long ester finish. This very characteristic Hampden profile is very classic, but not my favorite. It gets a good score for its complexity, but it won't be a crush for me.

Nice blend with moderate ester content. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. Tropical fruits, marzipan, relatively sweet, a bit of wood. It basically doesn't do much wrong. However, I found it got flatter and a bit bitter the longer it stayed in the glass.

Iam not Hampden expert to benchmark (yet), but I like this one a lot. Secured few bottles in NYC and tasted it at lical liquor store. This 2014 blend of LROK, <>H and LFCH is for US market only. Nose is accelerating to strong exotic fruits concert, some roasted bananas, smoke, mint and nice esters. Balances on palate, like velvet, fruity, floral, tropical bomb, lot of pineaple, nice finish, very good and also rare rum given it wont be available in Europe.. you can find it just few weeks after release on secondary market for double price... Preparing few samples for RumX community now:)

The nose is the usual combo of grilled pineapple and ripe banana with smokey industrial tones and noticable wood, but the thing that really sets this blend apart is the incredible level of creamy output that this just trucks in on the palate, particularly with dilution. Rich tropical fruits flow out, with mango and cherry joining the party, but always with an expansive vanilla bean whipped cream aspect. There is a lot of density even with substantial water. Very pleasant to surf down its dilution spectrum. The finish is assertive and lengthy. It makes an incredible daiquiri as well.

Able to try this thanks to Adrianv! Bursting with tropical pineapple and sour cherry, but also wonderfully creamy and buttery. It’s a real delight to sample this perfectly balanced rum. It even feels umami to me, especially in the aftertaste. There are fermented and smoky facets as well, which make the whole experience really enjoyable.

Very smoky, sour Hampden but quite nice. The esters are not too extreme, which is very pleasant every now and then. There's also a bit of wood and spice in the finish. Overall, a nice sour fruit basket.

Nice blend with rather cozy esters. Rather short and somewhat flat on the finish. Still a nice piece, but you don't have to chase after it.

On the nose: Esters, overripe pineapples and bananas, fermented notes, light citrus notes and little bit of woody notes. Taste: Esters, fermented notes and overripe tropical fruits at first, but then palate changes and the changes to little bit creamy. You get vanilla notes and ginger notes here and there while there is still intensity background Finish: Creamy, vanilla notes, little bit of ester notes and pineapple notes. Light ginger and honey notes. Little bit of woody notes and roasted in the background. Long finish. I think this rum was originally a American market release, but these bottles have been appearing on auctions lately. I think this was good blend with somewhat of a complexity with Hampden notes. I liked it eventhou it didn't blew me away.

Great tropical aged Hampden. Rich fruit esters, hints of wood, dark spices. A little tart on the finish, without the final balance. Still of high quality overall, a very good release.

Lots of ripe pineapple/banana, tropical fruit notes. Also some chewy creaminess. Not overly funkiness, but a very nice balance. Water is a must for this. Really opens up a lot with some dilution. My first Habitation Velier. Hopefully not my last!

Initial smell here is more subdued than your typical Hampden. I mostly get sugar plum, icing sugar, but relatively lower esters. Pours pale golden. Mouth opens up with pepper and sweet mango. Not quite worth high price tag. Long finish.
