Tasted this rum at the Whisky Live Paris 2026. It’s the eighth edition in the Tributo series and is a collaboration between Cuba and Ireland with a maturation in Redbreast Single Pot Still casks from the Middleton Distillery, Cork. Only 2,967 numbered bottles are produced overlooked by Maestro Asbel Morales. Overall a complex, balanced, elegant, aromatic, sweet and intense rum. The nose is fruity and spicy with scents of dried fruit, vanilla and sherry. At the palate it’s fruity, woody, candied and spicy with flavors of orange and oak. The finish is rather long.

#5196 02.04.2025 Received this sample from a good friend and couldn't wait giving it a go. Nose Light, fresh, light wood, faint whisky, fruits, light orange, spice, faint smoke, Palate Light, fresh, light oily, light wood, faint roasted, light caramel, dried fruit, light orange, spice. Finish Medium long, light oily, light wood, light caramel, raisin, light berries. Empty glass Light caramel, orange, light tobacco, faint leather. There is a nice natural sweetness to it. The price is way out there compared to other rums in this price range this one would be beaten to pulp. Goes very well with a good Cuban Cigar.
