The second 1667, this time from Reunion, comes across very fruity. Citrus fruits are strongly noticeable here. On the palate, young wood appears, as well as some vanilla. After a bit of resting time, herbs can also be detected.

Great integrated percentages. Feels like around 50% easily. Caramel cream. But for me, not that interesting.

8,2:On the nose, floral, perfumed, vegetal, briny, medicinal with menthol hints, toasted wood notes like chocolate, roasted nuts, pastry, spicy with allspice, fruity, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, overripe, fermented tropical fruits like mango, yellow and citrus fruits express themselves, slightly pungent, some caramel and anise hints. 8,4:On the palate the attack is slightly alcoholic, medicinal with varnish, wax, menthol hints, yet delicious, full if flavours, with banana, yellow, citrus fruits, slightly sour, toasted/charred wood notes like confectionery, chocolate, nuts, leather, spicy with allspice, smoky, molasses is vegetal, briny, floral. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, floral, grassy, dark with black tea, fruity with citrus, yellow fruits, the wood is toasted with caramel, chocolate, pastry, spicy, warm, smoky..

#7004 06.07.2026 Relaxeing with a few samples after a cold few hours on the bike. Watchine Gold Rush on HBO while my wife is applying for an extension of her residency. Nice rum with a good price tag in my mind. Fruity rum with spice, wood, caramel, light tannins and a dry palate.

The nose is bit soft, quite fruity and fresh, I get both tropical and continental fruits, yellow fruits, or more like marmelade, younger wood, light spices, light flowers. Already a promising start. The taste is still fruity, the spices and wood stand out more, I also get notes of leather and something bit smokey. The alcohol is bit biting however. Overall I like this very much.
