A French organic molasses rum from Vivant, distilled in Charente on a Stupfler still and aged in a mix of oak, acacia and chestnut, with acacia in the lead. Bottled at 40% with no additives and a very slow reduction, so it drinks clean and soft. The nose is floral and honeyed, with caramel, vanilla and a hint of fine wood. The palate follows through round and gentle, more elegant than powerful, carrying the brown-sugar sweetness you expect from molasses and an almost cognac-like polish. Very gentle and light. It never offends, but it never quite thrills either. A well made, distinctive rum for something distilled in Europe, though drinkers chasing big ester-driven intensity may find it on the quiet side.

#7360 25.09.2026 Tasting while in Paris for the Whisky Live 2026. Very bad rum in my mind and nothing I would go back to just to be honest. No matter the price even as a mixer I think it would fail. This is of course my opinion!
