#7301 15,09.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after getting back from the hospital after cutting my hand. Needed some stitching but nothing serious got hit though I made a blood bath at home. Listening to some Armin van Buuren on Spotify. A very nice Neisson with a good price tag at release. Complex profile with fruits, wood, spice, green, sugarcane, chocolate, nuts, tannins and a spicy palate.

Nice and nutty, also some light peach notes. I'm missing those beautiful tropical notes a bit. Maybe bottled a bit too young.

This Neisson is a virgin oak bottling (American oak heavy toast) without chill filtration. The color is clear golden brown. On the nose, a fine spiciness and distinct oak. The wood feels quite young. The ABV seems well integrated on the nose impression, but then shows its 59.4% on the palate. This makes it a bit sharp. Otherwise, a nice spicy/woody aroma. Underlaid with a fine sweetness and light hazelnut. The finish is long. First on this delicious spice/oak/sweetness mix, and at the very end, slight vegetal agricole aromas come through. A drop of water tamed the ABV a bit on the palate and enhanced the spiciness. Nice rum, which would get a few more points from me with a slightly less prominent ABV.
